Thank you ! based both on your advice and the director's opinion I'll go with the shorter one

I have very little cinematography knowledge, but I loved 2001 (though a bit slow-paced at times); and The Shining is apparently a classic.

Time to migrate amongst your own, comrade hexbear-logo

For the Filelist thing I prefer CLI tools generally (and all the export formats I've seen in the features seem perfectly doable through them); but your answer about XNViewMP definitely has merits, thanks ! I'll take a look at it

I'm so tired and yet I do the same

It's insane, I was worried the game was gonna be short but I've been sidetracked by like three long sidequests/dungeons - for hours - before I even reached the goblin camp, and now there are quests even inside that, too. Also the game is absolutely beautiful.

Coincidentally, I've never watched The Shining and planned to soon; I had already downloaded a x265 "director's cut" version to my NAS, in fact. It's the first version you talked about, I just checked.

You seem to know stuff about movies; I assume you'd recommend watching that shorter cut instead for a first viewing ?

N95s inside, always 👍

Good luck; I finally caught it for the first time myself about a month ago; it was awful

I've seen entire corporate networks run through a samba machine, though admittedly not often; it can be done

It's also probably a bad idea (the only upside would be security mind you)

I've been incredibly happy with Jellyfin on my NAS. What does Plex offer that it doesn't, out of curiosity ?

ImageMagick is shit

I love ImageMagick despite its quirks; but then again I do not use it for professional use (well I do as a dev but I'm not a photograph or anything). What does XNViewMP does that ImageMagick doesn't ?

Because at first glance it seems much worse - it has a graphical UI for one thing which seems inappropriate for the usecases I see ImageMagick being used for.

Also that Filelist Creator thing has existed on unix since the 70s; it's called "find", "ls", and "awk".

It's incredible, especially compared to the incredibly bland and forgettable storyline of the main game itself

Mask of the Betrayer stands among the greatest. Even the insufferable NWN UI cannot ruin it.

Been playing for about 20 hours on wine 8.1 + dxvk 2.2

You just have to use the --skip-launcher option to avoid the atrocious Larian launcher

Got two crashes in that time (one from the game, one kernelspace nvidia driver crash), but otherwise it's extremely fluid on ultra quality on a 1070ti (no lag at all). It's fucking awesome.
