it would be nice if we didn't include a global thermonuclear war.

I'm convinced they will

When the crumbling of the empire becomes too obvious, they will

This is disturbingly accurate

lmao just saw a new tagline added on the site:

Most people on lemmy.world are left-leaning and then everyone from hexbear.net goes over to there, calls them "libs" and shits on them. "Suck off a lib and a fascist comes?" good stuff from a Hexbear admin.

Or here if you don't care for torrents

It's the latest gog version in both cases

The latest IPCC report has identified "a dozen temperature trip-wires" (that is, large positive feedback effects triggered by temperature). And it's not exhaustive, they only cover what they can quantify at least somewhat effectively.

The classic "clathrate gun" hypothesis has been debunked, it's true; because most methane clathrates are stabilized by ocean pressure, not by temperature. But methane clathrate deposits along shallow coasts are most definitely stabilized by cold water, for example; there's more than enough of them along Siberia to produce truly catastrophic emissions - the equivalent of decades of human CO2e emission (and that's only one of those trip wires)

Mind you that's not really a hit of bloom, which is what OP was looking for. Sorry !

Also my morbid curiosity has me spending way too much time reading Federated threads and watching libs get dunked.
