Not really news but posting it here instead of the spookythread as it seems a better match; today I discovered there's a [email protected] and it's a wild wild place.
90% of the content right now is posted by a single user, who started mass-posting articles (several an hour sometimes) about a day ago. I checked one recent article out of curiosity: written by a researcher at something called the "The Institute for European, Russian, and Eurasian Studies" at George Washington university. Their website had my CIA-op senses slightly tingling so looking a bit more at it, it's an org that was created in the midst of the cold war as the "Institute for Sino-Soviet Studies"; the initial director of which - Kurt London - having publicly admitted to being in the CIA right prior and having said of the same CIA that "intellectually that outfit is a first rate group".
Students from what was at the time the SDS protested that same Institute for Sino-Soviet Studies in 1969, invading their offices, as described in page four of this underground newspaper issue (PDF warning), which I found rather neat. More on that newspaper here.
Their article is pretty fun to read as a random window into 1969 activism there, too:
I've made orders for 10 or 20 tabs previously from DW marketplaces, they sell small amounts too
