Sure would be nice if a left movement existed in one of these countries
Actual leftist movements absolutely do exist in France. They don't take parts in elections (well there's the NPA I guess but they don't do it hoping to get elected).
Reminder to any non-US comrade going to the US (I'm assuming you have no choice going there because if you do why would you): always cross the border with clean devices, and fill them once you're on the other side.
That's no reason to act like this quite frankly, if he didn't have a partner his parents would glady have taken it and injected it into a woman of their choice. You know, the logical and totally normal thing countries do.
I really wanted to avoid a debate (doubly so in a thread where some dude just wanted some help), which is why I'm trying not to engage the various answers I got; though just one thing since I apparently can't help myself: Qubes, which you cite, is indeed an example of such improved security done correctly, through an hypervisor and a solid implementation; not cgroups, some duct-tape and the same kernel, and thinking your security has improved. Thanks again, at any rate.
That's probably the part that freaked me out the most as well
Keivan Cohen, 20, was shot dead in 2002 by a Palestinian sniper in the Gaza Strip. He was single and left no will. But at the urging of his parents, a sample of his sperm was taken two hours after his death and has been stored in a hospital since.
That's my go-to as well when a close one dies. First thing I think of really: "go fetch their gametes, the meat is getting cold".
When the family tried to gain access to the sperm, however, the hospital refused, on the ground that only a spouse could make such a request. Arguing that their son yearned to raise a family, his parents challenged that decision in court. And on Jan. 15, after a four-year legal battle, a Tel Aviv court granted the family’s wish and ruled that the sperm could be injected into a woman selected by Cohen's family.
This is insanity
I disagree with most of the benefits you list (chief among them "increased security") - not to mention half of them are already supported by traditional package managers - but I was genuinely curious so thanks for the rationale.
"I don't 'condemn Hamas' because I don't know what that means, do I look like a fucking judge to you ? next question"
Deep thanks for all you do for this community comrade, your efforts are humbling
