It seems they are following along with the other big leagues (NBA/NFL). I'm wondering when that will be standard for all of sports
Thanks! I've subscribed and will try and crosspost on bigger Pacer things.
Yeah, I also like my small instance (BTW: donate to your instances!) I really hope that each instance ends up with like, one dominant community, so the traffic gets spread out and doesn't accidentally crush anything
I decided to spin up a Pacers instance. [email protected] https://midwest.social/c/pacers
[email protected] I'll try and do some moderating but if I can make you a mod I'd be happy to add you
Honestly... I forgot I was no longer on Beehaw who doesn't allow self-created communities.
So... I'm not a Lemmy.world member, so I assume I can't start a pacers community?
If someone starts it up I will fill it with posts (there is still an active subreddit for them unfortunately, but there is also a very active discord, both of which would provide good content to port over)
I'm not sure, but I wouldn't mind Mozilla in the fediverse. I thought I heard something about that being a possibility. At some point if things scale there will start to be a cost that has to be handled beyond donations, so what in hoping is there are maybe some trusted institutions that help out rather than Meta/Amazon/etc pushing into the space
I interpret this as really "people want to go back to a time before income inequality had ramped up as much as it has" but in their minds the overall feeling that the US is worse now for the non-elites is associated with other things
