The BIOS should have a boot order option. You could set you USB as first priority there. Your USB may need to be plugged in to appear in this list.

You do have to reboot to use your new kernel after an update. But it's just a normal reboot, not the whole blocking installation process like in Windows.

Don't you have an option to boot from usb in the BIOS?

Note that accessing the boot menus is not always with F12. Sometimes it's also ESC, F1, F2 or DEL. You should try those.

Most rulers will not care about this. Some people of their armies being killed is not part of their self interest.

In fact I can even give you some examples of rulers starting wars against countries being able to defend themselves, even though they knew they would have losses.

Even old blind people who can't pass driving tests use Uber or Lyft, because public transport simply isn't safe or suitable enough for them, especially during grocery runs.

You are assuming a car centric city here. In a walking and transit oriented city, it is safe and suitable for blind people to be independent and move by themselves. Only cars make the cities unsafe and the lack of transit makes it unsuitable to use something else than a car.

I'd say it's an ok design to enforce a crappy business model

How do disabled people who can't drive get their groceries in a car centric city?

If you can drive a car, you can probably also drive an electric wheelchair. This should be sufficient to take public transit or go to a nearby store.

I understand that it's not possible for everybody (though it should) but regular and long enough sleep will allow you to wake up without even needing an alarm.

This can be difficult during your studies with irregular schedule (and too many parties) or some jobs with irregular working hours. But generally if you wake-up everyday at the same time to go to work and you had enough sleep, you will be awake when your alarm rings.

You could also set your alarm 25 minutes later (or whenever you need to) and waking up at that time without snoozing it. The sleep quality would probably be even a lot better than the one from the snoozeroulette. Snoozing just makes you wake-up earlier than you should.

I use Linux at work because Windows has too many "annoyances that will curb [my] productivity". I can understand that it is not for everybody though.

You should respect everyone, teacher or not, and then you will start getting some respect too.
