Working in IT at the time, we were fairly sure things would be fine by the time New Years Eve rolled around,. Even going so far as to camp overnight outside at the Rose Parade, a wild time on a normal year and ridiculous in 1999 with Colorado Blvd packed with partyers.

The moment came and, of course, nothing really happened...except some GENIUS thought it would be a good idea to set off a giant firework at the college next door, scaring the living shit out of a few thousand people. Good times.

Keep up the great work.

Enforcement and accountability barely exist these days and you think those are going to work on police? The same police working every day with the very same officers, judges and prosecutors that would investigate them?

Tell me another fairy tale...

The problem is where you said "as long as" because we already know companies AND the AI itself can't be trusted to not expose sensitive info inadvertently. At absolute best, it's another vector to be breached.

Oh sweet child, go listen to the Nixon tapes. Half of this is right there on recording.

And if anyone doubts this, it's literally ON TAPE from inside the Oval Office.

Just go in knowing it likely will not be sheets of aurora like you see elsewhere but instead quick splashes of green hues. Still could be pretty cool though, hope you can see something!

"The market" (stocks) has been and will continue to be divorced from reality but to play devil's advocate, Tesla and it's investors consider it "more than just a car company". It's still ridiculous, but that's the market for ya.

While odd looking to some of us, they were actually right. That's 56,000 "millions" or 56,000 x 1,000,000 = 56 billion. A mind blowing amount of cash.

I will never understand...

You might try reading up on it (or the link someone posted) as you've got it wrong. That's why this has been such a huge issue, they are unlike other loans.

We are but I just use a Lemmy viewer that can block entire instances, problem solved.
