sorry, i'm replying all out of order and all over this thread -- what i get for failing to read and replying from my inbox..

If there's an automated way to migrate to piefed.social that includes the comments, media and ideally attribiution for all of the old posts that would be cool. I'll investigate those options a little

retrolemmy.com is another possibility, but idk anything much about it yet

Yea i don't disagree

there are a number of reposts already at .world, but i'm not opposed to abandoning.

I spent a little time today looking for a way to 'migrate' all the posts non-manually, but this is the closest tool i found and it doesn't include comments. https://gitlab.com/guardianoffreespeech/lemmy_meme_theif/-/tree/master

Also, it apparently uses V3 API and doesn't work out of the box for V4, aaannnndddd it apears to be written in rust annnnnnnndddd the latest coding work i've done was in like 1998 and was mostly Perl with some ansi C

SO

A large portion of the lemm.ee (all?) URLs are probably the ones I just stuffed in https://archive.ph/lemm.ee

tagging [email protected] since they have done the work reposting the lemmy.world instance [email protected] [i guess .today is not recognized as a valid tld?] lemmy.today

@[email protected] <--- i did just submit to register on retrolemmy.com and i think that would be a good fit BUT -- idk what the capicity is, and ofc we kinda don't want to need to move again anytime soon. What do you think?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Well, just today

i've stuffed all of the posts (and most of the sources) into archive.is, just in case.

I'm not super-active as you've pointed out...

I feel like you might like joker.com

Feels like I've had domains there since the 90's and their interface show it

You won't get any ai slop and zero pressure from upsell with them.

When I complained about the kinda high expense of keeping all of my old joke domains, they actually suggested

just sign up as a reseller and it's cheap and you don't gotta do anything at all.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 weeks ago

Haha hey I am sorry about that.

I did take a good sized and needed break for a bit. Sadly now we are seeing lemm.ee going away.

I've made one one on .world

TBH I am not particularly adept in the fediversification things and not sure

should we attempt to (is there a method for...) port any/all of the posts over there? Is there a way to "reassign" them? Hopefully with an automated tool of some sort.....

Tenga egg is far superior, and cheaper and easier to clean, and...

Just better all around

At least the handful of pest species yes.

As I understand it, there are no mosquito-obligate predators, and other insects will likely satisfy the food chain

(Feel free to prove wrong)

The 9/10 extension on gasoline pricing.

When this fuel was 13¢ per gallon, sure some folks might want to compete with finer-grained pricing.

It's time to drop that pretense

from: http://www.thebikecomesfirst.com/the-raleigh-vektar/

The Vektar, the worlds first computer bike, was launched in 1985 long before we had health and safety laws. Equipped with ‘micro chip technology’ the rider could see how fast they were going, how far they had gone and how long they had been riding for at the touch of a button. The head’s down display ensured that you would ride into the back of your mate or a kerb as you fiddled with the control panel.

If that wasn’t enough you could listen to the radio on one of the three AM preset stations either while riding the bike or parked up hanging out with their pals. Later models came with a MW tuner giving even less crappy sound quality.

The main feature though was the advanced warning and alarm system. Once you had chosen one of the eight sounds from the ‘revolutionary sound generator’ on the top tube mounted control panel, you could use the handlebar mounted controller to terrorise old ladies as you rallied around the housing estate
