Sorry, tend to assume worst of the Germans, and Europeans in general

I mean,I live in Romania and the specimens that come from the diaspora in your country are some of the worst people imaginable

Though you are right,I didn't account for that and I should know better

I mean,I see Iron Guard apologia spring up after the fall of communism here,I assume it's like ten times worse in former East Germany, seeing as living standards cratered both here and there

Sadly,I think that's just antisemitism instead of actual solidarity with Palestine (in East Germany)

I agree with what you said, and I denounce the actions of revanchists both in Romania and Moldova who want to annex the region.I also am aware of the monstrous actions of the Antonescu government in the region in WW2 and the fact that it basically was a killing ground for slavs and jews. However, isn't the reason it even has to do anything with Moldova at all the fault of the USSR? The Moldovan SSR they formed in the interwar period was formed around it,a land which had nothing to do with historical Basarabia, and was entirely an entity conceived of in order to peel away the territories Romania took in the wake of the collapse of the Russian Empire? I mean, back then, that area was inhabited by a mix of Russians and Ukrainians. I don't denounce this, really, seeing as taking away territory from fascist Romania was ultimately a good thing, but I am critical of the decision to keep it a part of the Moldovan SSR after the war. Why didn't they create a separate SSR? Or give it to the Ukrainian SSR? They kept this unnatural arrangement and I think they should be criticized for this at the very least.

Well, the nation of Moldova appeared in 1991,it's historical predecessor, the Principality of Moldavia was one of the three Romanian principalities, which would unite with Wallachia in 1862 to form Romania.

The area of modern day Moldova was historically the eastern part of this entity and was already part of the Russian Empire at this point.Romania today actually has the core part of Moldavia. It stayed that way until the end of WW1,when the Russian Empire broke apart, and it was annexed/it reunified with Romania. In 1940,the Soviet Union strongarmed Romania into withdrawing from the region.

During WW2, Romania took it back with the help of Nazi Germany, and committed a shit ton of atrocities against the Jews in Pridniestrovie, then they got pushed back by the USSR,and it reminded a part of it until the Soviet Union fell.

These maps are comparing the vote results with the areas in which Moldovan is spoken

Looking at it,yeah, yes is mainly concentrated around Chisinau, with no being dominant in the rest of the country

No mainly in Gagauzia,no surprise there,I thought there would be more in Pridniestrovie, but over 50% no is still not nothing, also probably because people there didn't all vote,so there's that,as a consequence of not Moldova not having official control of the area, and not being able to set up polling booths

Also, this makes it obvious it's the fucking diaspora that decided the outcome, although,to be fair, the population is bigger in the blue area
