The Democrats have started moving Right starting in the 1990s, not left.

Biden said he was going to be a transitional, 1-term president. Then around January of 2024, his staff start reporting that he wants to race.
And then the absolutely mind boggling handling of the race from that point on: failing to advertise their wins, ignoring the public's pain points, and transitioning from the incumbent to another candidate with no primary process, among others.
The Democrats played their part by absolutely doing nothing to stop Trump's momentum. They could have at least fought back by LYING to their base and leftists to rally up, but they even failed at that.
