Gamepass is going to continue betting worse until we end up with the mess that are streaming services right now.

Really happy, they did a fantastic job making the world feel real and lived in.
The game does this thing I really like, where the survivors have turned the rooftops into gardens and farms since most zombies can't reach them.
It really adds to the idea that they've adapted to the post-apocalyptic world after 20 years.
A lot of the quests actually touch on the logistics of the new world, with subjects like power, communication and resources being a main focus.
The only 2 enemies vulnerable to a single type of attack are DLC and you have your full arsenal by then.
I agree that the game is a bit weird during the second and third missions due to the limited tools you are given, but I think you might be exaggerating how the weaknesses work a bit.
