Dang I think this is really cool. Never really thought about what it looks like under a wave. Have always been jealous of the awesome view surfers get as the surf through the tube of a breaking wave.
Doom scrolling wasn't there in the early days of reddit. Lemmy is still new. I think people just had high hopes and expectations that lemmy would be a 1 to 1 replacement for reddit, but that was never going to happen. Reddit has had years to grow and optimize while lemmy is just a fledgling with a niche user base.
Also I think lemmy is missing that hook or gimmick to get, for lack of better words, the attention seekers here that will make posts and content just for upvotes or to show up on everyone's front page. Not saying lemmy needs to be reddit, but I do think it needs a little extra something than just being a decentralized reddit alternative.
What this person is trying to say is they are exponentially better at being technically correct.
Astroturf maybe? Would make a little more sense than carpet.
This makes me feel so much better. I had the same start as you and was pulling my hair out a bit. I knew there would be some learning curves but not this hard. I just felt like a moron for a bit. Some things would be fine then the next print would be spaghetti for no reason. Don't even get me started on the 4 contact points for balance/ leveling.

Pharma companies would already have a caffeine equivalent that would be only slightly different in structure so it would circumvent the law. It would then be sold at exorbitant prices and people would still pay even with the side effect of sometimes you eat someone's face. Of course they would then sell you something else to stop the side effects. You would also have the caffeine purists who would start their own speak easies and organized crime. People "abiding by the law" would start calling the purist, plants, since that is where caffeine is coming from, while the synthetic caffeine users would be called zombies for the obvious face eating reasons. This whole thing would cause even greater divides between already split countries leading to all out war. WWIII plants vs zombies.
You haven't heard of the infamous Germa 66? Mercenaries of the underworld, commanded by the Vinsmoke family, rulers of the Germa kingdom. Not to mention, the defacto bad guys in most comics mentioned in the one piece universe.
What kind of phone do you have/ what do you use to keep your phone private. I'm asking genuinely. I've always been a strong advocate of privacy but felt like i was alone and fighting an uphill battle until recently finding this sub. So I'm still very noobish with a lot of it.
