He is, but he has also done some highly questionable stuff, both as Kelly, and under his real name as a cartoonist that isn't parodying chud cartoonists:

Wow, last I heard of her, she said she was quitting youtube and giving up the Vikki1999 persona for good. CW (after severe self harm). It was a very clear and definite statement that she would be giving up having any kind of public presence and never returning. It looks like that didn't stick. Guess I shouldn't be surprised.

I actually quite enjoyed her early vids, but then it became this very strange situation where almost everything she said was just bad take after bad take. Then stuff came out about her being inappropriate with underage fans (to put it mildly) and going on a drunken anti-Palestinian tirade on her discord which culminated in her supposed "retirement." Gross, cringe youtube personality drama. Also, all of this, including the anti-Palestinian bigotry was well before Oct 7, not that it matters.

It wasn't because the fascists thought they were fighting Jews (in this case), it was because most of the Chechen soldiers were Muslim, who also have prohibitions on using or consuming pigs. It was of course typical nazi-style petty racism, but it was specifically about targeting Muslims.

Not everyone in the audience is that.

For sure, and I hope it didn't look like I was implying that. It's why I made a point to say that "some of us reading" appreciate your commentary. The "lying, willfully ignorant" thing was referring specifically to Unruffled and empireOfLove who you and robinnn were replying to respectively. The long process of questioning propaganda and the widening cracks that you describe is similar to my own experience, and I even commented recently about how the purpose of debating people in these online threads is rarely to change the mind of the person you're arguing with, but rather to speak to the audience and plant the seeds that their doubt will hopefully grow from over time.

It's not that they "don't have the balls" to do the right thing, it's that they have a vested interest in doing the wrong thing. The US isn't just failing to prevent genocide or punish those responsible, they are helping to conduct it.

I just want to thank you and @[email protected] for the time and effort you put into these heavily-sourced and informative comments. Even if these lying, willfully ignorant shitlibs can't appreciate it because it so clearly demonstrates how wrong they are and how little they know, some of us reading do appreciate it. I've learned a lot as a result and am better equipped to help others who might be willing to try to better understand the situation too.

In thinking about it, I'm actually slightly more scared of a Biden reelection. The actual policies will be just as horrible as they would be under another Trump admin, just look at the last 4 years for proof. But if Trump wins, all the blue maga libs will be screaming again about how the US is descending into fascism, which is true, they just don't understand the reasons or that it's true with Biden as well. Remember when they were upset about kids in cages on the border? It was because the rude orange man was doing it. When a dem does it, it's polite so it must be ok. Trump made for more room to be critical of US policies, both foreign and domestic, but mostly domestic. I don't think the George Floyd protests would have gone as far under a dem president. I don't think we would have gotten any economic relief for covid under a democrat president (even the measly token amount we did get). And while I don't think Trump will do anything to help end the genocide of Palestinians, it's at least slightly possible his pretense at an isolationist stance will make it harder to send hundreds of billions of dollars to Israel like Biden insists on doing. And again, anything Trump does to perpetuate the genocide, many more libs will (correctly, like a broken clock) see it as a bad thing.

Some might say this borders on accelerationism, but I disagree. There really was a material benefit to Trump being president beyond "things are going to get worse faster" because more people actually gave a shit about what was going on. Specifically, more people that have at least some wealth and power (like PMC turbolibs). As long as Biden is the imperial top dog, all the libs can go back to enjoying brunch, content in the knowledge that the supposed adults in the room are in control. If Biden wins a second term, it also makes it all the more clear that the democrats can literally and openly conduct a genocide and still get rewarded for it. That is more frightening to me than another 4 years of Trump, and I say that as a queer person belonging to a few demographics that Trump and the republicans are keen to target (that the democrats might sometimes give lip service to in order to maintain the facade that they don't also hate us).

Well, yes, for sure. I don't think there's any question here that the D/R clownshow will continue. The only question (as with every prez election cycle) is which one will win the big clown contest, D or R. Anyone who thinks Green or PSL can siphon away voters in numbers significantly more than they did in past elections is sadly but profoundly mistaken. I haven't seen that prediction here on hexbear though.

Personally, I think it seems pretty obvious Trump will win, though I don't care enough to have a strong opinion or to watch the polls in any more detail than what I see posted here. I just know I'll either get to point and laugh at the blue maga libs or the original maga chuds while life for myself and most other working class people will continue to decline in this rotting core and as its contradictions heighten, becoming increasingly terminal.

Edit: And voting isn't going to change that. On the contrary, a good argument can be made that voting is rolling over for the empire by tacitly legitimizing this fucking joke of a "democratic" system. Anyone who is involved in an org or doing literally anything to help other people especially in their community but refuses to vote is doing infinitely more to not surrender to the empire than someone who votes with all their might in every election and then goes home to watch TV news.

I also noticed the firefox add-on LibRedirect which I always used to find very useful, seems to be living up to its name. They removed any redirect options for xitter even though there are still working frontends for it like nitter.poast.org.

"Despicable" is my go-to.

(Also, greetings fellow Cupcake).

The carnist apologia in this thread is something else. The contortions people (sadly, including leftists) will go through just to try to assuage their cognitive dissonance and justify what they must know on some level is naked hypocrisy is truly is wild.

Hexbear carnists engage in self-crit challenge: impossible.

None of the invidious or piped instances are working right now. At least not for me. madeline-sadeline

I'm guessing youtube must be fucking with things and trying to block all the frontends all at once again.
