Right now NYC is has one of the strictest gun laws, where you need to go to the pigs office to apply for an expensive permit which could take up to a year just to be able to walk into a gun store and purchase a gun. Also you need permission from the pigs for every gun you purchase, and the permits for handguns and rifles are different, so you would need them both, plus the permission slips for each gun you own.
