I always like the episodes where he covers things that eventually turned out well, but took some weird turns to get there. I’m super glad the remake eventually did come out, and nailed it.

I pushed through vanilla to get to Heavansward, because that’s where everyone said it was a truly astounding narrative experience. Got through it thinking.. that’s all? Got maybe 1/3 into Stormblood and burned out. At this time I can’t recall a single plot point from any of it except for dragons trading their eyes around like Pokémon cards for magic power. I sometimes feel like getting back into it to see the hype for Endwalker, but I worry I’ll be just as unimpressed, and have to put massive time in just to find that out.

I just never got it - I’m a huge FF fan and have played and loved every single game multiple times... 14 just does not do anything for me, from the gameplay to the characters, setting and story. The raid mechanics are fun enough to not feel like I’m wasting time, and the music is good. Am I just missing something?

Theft is always justified, then, clearly!

Still plays good too! The controls are so fluid while being perfectly responsive. Some of the most intensely difficult platforming challenges remain totally fair.

As far as we know, Gordon Freeman’s character traits include.. long, awkward silences and the ability to climb ladders using only your feet. I love Idris Elba, but I think almost anyone could play Gordon.

Probably not much, especially if you already like the controller. I have a crap controller that I use with my phone, so it would probably be an upgrade over that... but even so, I’d rather just buy a better controller.

PSP emulation is solid! I just played through Crisis Core on my modded switch at 2x resolution.

This brings me back to plugging my PSP into my TV with the big component cable adapter to play that game. This thread is making me so nostalgic.

I have so many fond memories of playing my modded PSP. Everything from NES ROMs, to PS1 native emulation or Crisis Core, I even used it as an MP3 player with an aux cable in my car before there were better solutions, or watching Futurama on my breaks at work. Back in the day there was no single device that could do all of this. Even now it’s so comfortable and the buttons feel so great compared to newer handhelds, so I just replaced the battery and started replaying Puzzle Quest.

Soo they didn’t get sucked in, they were drawn in and couldn’t resist, and rather than becoming monsters the shape of their bodies was deformed. It really hits Junji Ito’s delicate balance of too silly to be taken seriously, while deeply unsettling at the same time.

I’ve checked the remember me box at least 3 times today, that login timeout is a little aggressive for my standards

Of the language models you can run locally, I’ve found them to be awkward to use and not perform too well. If anyone knows of any newer ones that do a better job I’d love to know.
