No problem; I've been working on it. Been spreading them out so I don't flood people with spam.

e: Also I'm at work, and all this copying and pasting from my phone is a hassle cause I'm old and I prefer my desktop. :P I'm slow as molasses on mobile.

e2: Also forgot to mention that any posts I make will be mirrored on the homepage of the website. But that's also something I'll have to update from home until I install some remote desktop software.

Oh I had no idea. But it makes sense, cause I never see any Russian troll shit on there*

I ended up moving to [email protected]

See you there!

I want [email protected] but that instance is more for terrestrial amateur radio so I don't think my application will be approved. I'll probably just pick a major instance to minimize the chances that this happens again.

Edit: went with [email protected]

Hell no! :D I'm motivated to make the concept work this time. Sucks that I'm going to lose all my subscribers from the first go around, though. This is roadblock but I'll find another route.

The major hurdle right now is getting people to send me content. I think I need to simplify the "how to contribute" page on the website. On the original website from 2023 I had a form where people could type in song suggestions without actually having a copy of the mp3. I didn't do it this time around because I had to manually hunt down each and every tune and then upload it to the radio server, and that got tiring quick. But now I'm thinking that maybe I should suck it up and reinstate the form.

(Anyway sorry for the tangent. I have ADHD so it happens.)

Edit: I decided to move to [email protected]

Sorry guys; my bad. It's all my fault.

Jokes aside, it is going to be an internet radio station run by Lemmy users. We will have live DJs, scheduled programming blocks, and all music will be picked by the community.

This actually a relaunch. I originally launched the station back in 2023 but it barely lasted two months because I couldn't get enough content nor enough DJs to fill the schedule.

This time around I'm not launching the station until I have enough content to actually function like a proper radio station. I'm shooting for Q3 2025 because I feel like that is a wide enough window to get enough volunteers before we hit the airwaves. It all depends on you.

So if you want to contribute a block of programming, or even just give me a list of your favorite tunes, please read this first, and then PM we what you've got.

Also if you want to be a live DJ, please fill out this 4 question application.

Join us at our new home [email protected]. Thank you and see you on the airwaves soon!

Dammit, I literally just re-opened [email protected] this week. What unfortunate timing.

To any of my subscribers reading this: I'm currently in the process of finding a new instance. I'll update this comment when I establish a new home for Radio Lemmy. Stay tuned...

(e: Lemm.ee was also my first account after I left reddit. As silly as it is, I'm going to miss it. I have another account on a different instance but it's not nearly as old...)

EDIT 2: We moved to [email protected]

Can't wait to see you at the relaunch. Streaming will begin Q3 2025.

Why not? That is usually the case. They're often bi or pan, but think that because they choose to be straight, that it's a choice for everyone else as well.

Ha! FWIW I didn't find out what it did until well into adulthood, long after my parents got rid of that PC.

As kids, my siblings and I would push it for fun, having no idea what it did (other than make the number on the 7 segment display change). Never even noticed a difference but then again I was 6 when we got that computer.

Maybe; did Packard Bell produce upright PC cases in the early 90s? I thought they only did horizontal cases but I was like 6 back then so I'm just going by what my mom said to me.
