Looks cool, best of luck.

It's like that meme where it's the guy saying he just needs that one piece, and the piece is labeled "a billion dollars"

To be honest, I just stick to plain ol' LibreOffice. I use folders to organize notes, which isn't perfect but works for me.

Yeah, mechanism is a lot more objective way to classify board games. We can argue all day about, say, what exactly a wargame is, but what games have hex grids, area control, and resource managements is a lot easier to agree on.

I haven't played the expansions, but I thought the base decent. It was more interesting than your average Euro, but it didn't blow me away either. I'd say buy it if your into the theme.

Must be a day of the week that ends in y.

I haven't made the 2 to 3 jump yet. I'm waiting for the war patch, which is coming decently quickly.

I'd say it depends on the length of the dialogue. If we're talking about 2-3 lines, then yeah, it should only be done on switching. If we're talking about a speech that lasts several pages, I would think that it should be clear from context clues who is speaking.

Anyway, don't get hung up on rules! Write how you want! Have a style!

I feel like I've seen paragraphs end with quotation marks and then pick back up with more quotation marks on the next paragraph in serious literature, so I'd say write how you want. That said, it is good to break up walls of dialogue every now and then to set the scene with small details like that.

Edit: didn't mean to make this a comment reply instead of post reply, but it still counts

I tried TNFC back in the 1.7.10 era, but never got past a bronze anvil. TFC is fun but can be so tedious to progress in sometimes.

[–] Profilename1@sopuli.xyz 2 points 2 years ago

I didn't realize TFC was out yet for modern versions. I'll have to check it out,

Recently I listened to the Specials self-titled 1979 album and really enjoyed it. I've been wanting to try out some Ska music for awhile now because it's a genre I don't know a whole lot about. What recommendations do you guys have as far as Ska music?

More pics

Early game. Covers some of the old-school skyblock stuff.

Forestry, Railcraft, and other miscellaneous machines like the printing press

Later Rotarycraft machines as well as a touch of Reactorcraft, Minechem, and Mystcraft

Meet the new forge, same as the old forge. Forge has been forked, with the majority of forge's developers moving over to the fork, NeoForge. They hope to implement some major improvements come 1.21 and maintain compatibility with Forge mods on 1.20.

I've been working on a new modpack, which I've been teasing some here and there. It's a Rotarycraft-centered Skyblock without a certain famous skyblock mod, giving it a unique feel. I've finally gotten to the point of having a test build, and here's some screenshots of my starter base. You can see updates on progress on my discord: https://discord.gg/ZsBzr4m

Monthly check in post! The last one was poorly worded. I just want to know what people have been playing on general, as far as strategy games.

Monthly check in! What have you all gotten to the table recently?

Monthly check in post: What's up everybody? Share the latest blocky hotness here!

Working on my skyblock modpack, Rotary Skies. I like how The End is turning out. It has a beautiful, ominous, liminal look.

Thinking about making a skyblock modpack centered on rotarycraft. I've done some checking and haven't really found anything quite like what I'm envisioning. I'd like to use Meteorcraft, another one of Reika's mods, as your main source of ore so as to break out of the rut Skyblock packs tend to run into. Thoughts?

A lost classic, as far as I'm concerned. A sweet, stripped back, and intensely melancholy album. "But we were just fourteen..."

Pax Porfiriana (sopuli.xyz)

Got a play of Pax Porfiriana in yesterday. Excellent game, very close play. It came down to money after a military coup was narrowly averted. I probably could have won on money had I abandoned the coup attempt and sold off my assassin cards instead, but dang it, I don't want to be the richest player, I want to be the military dictator of Mexico!

It's reminiscent of Pax Pamir, which is in the same system. I'd have to get another Pamir play in to compare, but I think I prefer Porfiriana.

I've got some big plans for this fort. I've got a few megaprojects in mind and I'm going to try and finally make Mountain Home. I'll be sure to post more about it once it's finished.
