  • Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced that COVID-19 vaccines would be available only to people over age 65 or with qualifying health conditions. Kennedy and other officials also said the shots would no longer be recommended for pregnant people or children.
  • These announcements sidestepped established, transparent processes for changes to vaccine policy, which for decades have gone through the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP), which is set to meet June 25–27.
  • Ahead of the meeting, RFK Jr. abruptly removed all committee members and replaced them with his own allies, many of whom have downplayed the risks of COVID-19 and are vaccine skeptics. If ACIP agrees with Kennedy’s conclusions, insurance companies may not cover the shot for the general public.
  • Restricted access to COVID-19 vaccines will mean more transmission, hospitalizations, and deaths, as well as a higher incidence of Long COVID.
  • The policy changes are already sowing chaos and confusion, including for people who should still be eligible to get vaccinated.

I am genuinely confused by Europe mod log, I don't know what to tell about it: https://lemmy.dbzer0.com/modlog/1488353

About the Misinformation community, I believe we both have different scopes of focus. I my community is more general, while the other community is focused on misinformation on social media.

Hopefully, this community would make people more resistant to clickbait titles and make journalists who use clickbait titles, too embarrassed to clickbait readers.

Otherwise, I hope it brings fun and creativity to Lemmy.

ChatGPT had finally admit It after Tesla shares had plunged last Friday. The beloved LLM, couldn't hold the truth any longer.

ChatGPT is Openai child that was created long time ago to save humanity from itself, now he is proving it loud and clear after he admited the ultimate truth that could not be argued or disproven.

Wether humanity will believe and follow him is yet to be seen.

A psychologist who misled the family court about his qualifications could have wrongfully given expert evidence in at least seven other cases, the Bureau of Investigative Journalism (TBIJ) has found.

Graham Flatman, an educational psychologist based in Kent, was suspended by the regulator for taking work as a “clinical psychologist” and carrying out an assessment he was not qualified to make.

Flatman is only trained to assess the educational needs of children and young people up to the age of 25 who have learning difficulties – not adults more generally. In this case, he wrote a wide-ranging report on a vulnerable mother as part of family court proceedings. The woman later complained to the regulator.

The Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) said Flatman “misled [the woman] and the court” and that his “misconduct brought the profession into disrepute and had the potential to harm [the mother]”.

A UK council has spent over £500,000 to house a vulnerable 10-year-old boy in an illegal children’s home for four months, the Bureau of Investigative Journalism (TBIJ) can reveal.

Isle of Wight council has been charged £29,000 per week for the placement in a semi-detached house leased by the local authority, at which the boy was the only resident. The home is not registered with Ofsted, the education and care watchdog, which makes operating it a criminal offence.

Remarking on the cost to the public purse, a judge said: “You could send him to Disney[land] Paris for a month and save some money.”

At a high court hearing last month, Mr Justice Keehan called the standard of care at the home “wholly inadequate” after hearing allegations of staff’s frequent use of restraint and the boy’s social isolation.

Social workers took the boy into care last year. He had been traumatised by witnessing domestic violence and deemed beyond parental control, and has since been placed in a series of illegal children’s homes.

The hearing concerned the council’s application to renew permission for staff to closely supervise the boy and restrain him if necessary, known as a Deprivation of Liberty (DoL) order. The use of DoL orders for children as young as 10 is rare.

The boy’s experiences, laid bare in the legal proceedings, highlight the failure of the social care system to provide for vulnerable children requiring high levels of supervision.

Noice. One less negative person.

Yes, The time frame is per day.

Here is the reason I don't support that limit:

From my experience in moderating the technology community at my main account, no one will post on my new community for very very long time.

How will news community for example survive on 5 news posts daily? As I said it will be granted to fail if it did not contain useful news posts that cover wide amount of topics.
