kate mckinnon was my least favorite part of the barbie movie
PolPotPie
the authoritarianism oozes from this image. the harsh angles of the bus reminding you that you are not an individual; the ominous, prison-like bars on the bike path; the violent red lights restricting freedom of movement; the vacant streets because nobody can afford a car; infrastructure obviously unmaintained as evidenced by weeds growing all over the bridge. you should consider yourself lucky you don't live here.
agreed with you and rojo, biden wins
folding laundry is tedious
i taught 9/11 to history students who weren't old enough to remember it. i put together a reader of pre-attack context, and OBL's letter to the american people. oh and we watched that one video of the cranky new yorker in one of the towers talking to emergency personnel up until the building collapsed, cuz you know, the human element and it makes me sad.
by comparison, on the day bin laden was killed, i had a coworker who cancelled all lessons for the day, dressed in flag apparel, and just did patriotic riffing for every period.
pretty messed up of china to force america to be so intolerant
didn't Leftover Crack and The Coup have albums drop right around this time, too?
mmm love grating my fist skin like cheese on a nazi's teeth
it is in poor taste, but for those who came of age post-9/11, that one day was used as a cudgel for years by the worst types of people for the flimsiest appeals to patriotism. the flag humpers and such. also, state sanctioned violence (evictions, unaffordable health care, covid 'rules') have killed millions more than that one attack. it was a matter of america's chickens coming home to roost, as would say
i figured the us vetted communist-country immigrants and picked the most rabid anticommunists
it's evil and awful. i did a significant career change at age 30 and nobody took 7 years of high school teacher experience seriously or transferrable to office work. mf, i'm my own project manager AND support staff, plus i provide live presentations 6 hours a day. replying to emails and paying a few invoices is literally the LEAST i could do. eventually i got something and i've been alright. try the public sector (school districts, local city/county govt, etc).
