Systemic racism refers to the systems and structures that create and perpetuate racial inequality in society, affecting various aspects of life, including wealth, employment, housing, healthcare, education, and the criminal justice system. It's not just about individual prejudice, but rather about the deeply embedded discriminatory practices, policies, and beliefs within institutions.

Hard part with these communities is that many were drivers of systemic racism. The charters would oftentimes include rules about who was allowed to move in.

Don't believe me? Look at the current population mix of any of those planned communities. That should be a rough approximation of the races that were allowed to participate.

These communities provided a leg up for anyone that was allowed in. They received a good subsidized community. It did not, and was not meant to, create an equal playing field for everyone.

Has anyone tried these this year? How is the quality compare to 2023 18yr? I had found 2022 18yr very disappointing.

With the drastic price increase, I have pause dropping $400 on a bottle that was $250.

I have been a scotch drinker for many years. My cabinet has ranged from 1 bottle to 30. Today, I would like to talk about Toki by Santory Distillery. This wiskey has a flavor profile somewhat like a lightly peated Dalwhinnie. There is a strong whiskey bite on the front end and a tail of vanilla and licorice.

It has become a standard in my cabinet. I have had less success with some of its cheaper Santory brothers, but maybe there is something magical waiting in those pricier bottles...
