Claire Foy as Lady Percy in the Upstairs, Downstairs reboot. Seeing her play the queen just felt so wrong, lol.

Secular refers to things not religious or spiritual. Those days are religious holidays in various forms of Paganism which is an umbrella term for a set of religions/spiritual practices. If anybody wants truly secular holidays the equinoxes and solstices shouldn't be included in that list.

(Edited to fix typo)

As a Pagan, if you want federal holidays to be secular then solstices and equinoxes couldn't be counted. Many Pagans (not all) observe them as holy days along with Feb 1-2 (Imbolc), May 1 (Bealtaine - there are multiple spellings this one), August 1 (Lammas/Lughnasadh), and Halloween (Samhain). And I'm sure Pagans that celebrate non-European traditions have other days, I just can't speak to them personally.

All righty then Ebeneezer...

The insinuation that he got women drunk to sleep with them was also pretty disgusting.

I'm not trying to make apologies for him. It wasn't right that he did that. I will say that when we get to him in the present of the show he was a villain. He murdered people and stole things. It's not surprising that he did that. Villains be villaining.

But yeah, I didn't like him being with Emma, though I'm not a huge Emma fan either.

I do have to wonder, what did you think of Nook in S07 if you watched it? For me, the things with Nook and Alice were actually interesting.

(Edit to fix weird wording.)

Because ABC is a Disney thing and they pulled pretty much all of their stuff from Disney versions of those stories since those versions are their IP, I don't think so. Swan Princess wasn't done by Disney. It's probably why they never got into Thumbelina either.

Also, Swan Princess is based off of Swan Lake and Emma's story bears no resemblance to that one. Her character arc is more like the Ugly Duckling (Disney did a version in the 30s). She goes from feeling out of place to finding home and her people.

I'm sure you know, any character that makes any bird associations typically has feather and wing motifs (if they're meant to be a good and/or graceful character) in costuming, props, background deco, and/or symbolism and we do see that with Emma. It does make sense that some people might find costuming similarities between Emma and Odette at certain points, but Emma isn't based off of Swan Princess.

TL;DR - Day's end you can call yourself whatever you want. It would be a problem calling them that when they don't like being called that. But also don't tell somebody else to call you that in hopes they'll get in shit.

You were hoping they'd get in shit for using the word, so your motives in that instance weren't exactly pure. Maybe reflect on that part. It's still weaponising the word.

Generally speaking though, to me it's no different than a woman going up to her group of girl friends and saying ''Sup bitches!!!', or Black people using the n-word amongst each other, or Roma people using g--sy amongst themselves. If a gay person wants to call themself a f-----, have at it!

I had a thing with some girl friends where we'd volley 'slut', 'whore', 'harlot', etc. at each other. We'd also try to get as ridiculous as possible with it the names. A random person shouting those names at us would be a bad thing, but the context and rapport we had with each other changed that in those cases. It's also something I wouldn't do with people I didn't really know regardless of gender since we don't have that background with each other.

I'm part Portuguese and if somebody wants to call me a pork chop I'm like, 'Damn straight!' and I'll sometimes call myself that too. But I won't call my cousin's cousin that because he doesn't like being called that and that's fine.

EDITED TO FIX FORMATTING... (still getting used to things on this platform, lol)

Classics like Bugs Bunny and Animaniacs were always good. Doug. Pepper Anne.

Ones that most people have forgotten or didn't know because they weren't exposed to Canadian shows as a kid:

Science Court was on ABC's One Saturday Morning and I loved it. Technically a Sunday morning one, but The Smoggies for the Canadian people here that are of a certain age! The Raccoons (another Canadian one)

For the black & white movie days... Barbara Stanwyck. I get that in Double Indemnity she's supposed to be an evil bitch, but even in movies where she's supposed to be the one you're rooting for...she's terrible. And in one movie I saw with her I didn't even realise it was her at first and I was still like, 'This person is terrible.' and then I realised it was her.

For the modern day - being somebody born in the 80s that grew up in the 90s... Di Caprio. Even when I was a kid I was like, 'There's something off with him and I don't know it is, but there's something off....' and everybody else is going on about how amazing he is. Now at least we know that he's a predatory creep.

Correct me if I'm wrong - I'm not American, so I wouldn't see this regularly - but I swear I heard about a lotto jackpot or two that hit the billions of dollars (maybe it was close, if wasn't that much). So it's possible (rare as all fuck, but possible on occasion) to get to that - or close to it - without building it on the backs of the working class. If that happened to DominusOfMegadeus then that would be awesome! All for it. It's unfortunately more likely that you're crushing people's spines as you climb the mountain of them to reach that amount though. Blargh...
