Tauri uses the system’s native web rendering engine instead of shipping Chromium with the whole app. As a result you get much smaller app bundles (like 10 MB for a complex app), better startup times and less RAM usage. The downside is that you need to do slightly more testing but the end result is worth it.

They could have at least used Tauri.

Yeah kagi looks quite good to me but I just can’t justify their asking price.

3€ / month for unlimited searches is probably as far as Id go. Hopefully they find a way to lower prices in the future and capture a wider audience.

Maybe they're just not very confident about their posts.

Nah he’s here. It’s the guy downvoting all the anti reddit posts

I wonder if they’re gonna fix it in a patch. Lots of people are complaining about it.

It’s a True Detective quote.

I got the same message with uBlock. The site also goes apeshit in some places because I assume it tries to circumvent my adblocker by changing classes in the dom. Either way - at this point I don’t care any more.

I don't know how available international news are in russian language, so I'd give language learning apps a pass.

Exactly. I develop a popular news reader app and considered pulling it from the Russian App Store when the conflict started. Then I remembered that providing an RSS reader to Russians is probably a good way to give them access to a wider range of information and quickly decided against removing it.

Yeah at this point I’m surprised how news organizations can still be on X. That place is complete bullshit now and I bet the comments on news articles are especially troubling.

I think this was done to get the PWA in the App Store because otherwise it wouldn’t add any value over just using the web version and therefore not be allowed in the store.

Oh man I needed this! Not the stupid extensions that play it in a normal YouTube window or something. I just wanna remove that crappy short form video stuff altogether.
