2nd grade, the meanest teacher I ever had got mad at me for using a colorful pen to write on my classwork. In front of the class, she told me to “never bring that pen back to school.” This was a new pen that I had just bought - the kind with multiple colors inside and I wanted it for my babysitter’s after school so I could use it on the Spirograph - so I said, “Can’t I just keep it in my backpack? I go to my babysitter’s…” and that’s where she cut me off and proceeded to yell at me in front of the whole class and made me sit out for recess for “talking back”. Since I had “lunch detention”, I had to eat last, but I had never been in big trouble before and I cried the whole recess and, by the time my lunch came I couldn’t eat from crying so they called my mom to talk me into eating.

Wow, I’ve been trying to think of the name of this show forever. I remember her getting her powers taken away and the mom dumped spaghetti over her head to make her use it.

I still wish I had these powers and do the time freeze gesture sometimes.

It’s the 90s super skinny model trend coming back just like cropped t-shirts, baggy pants, and tennis skirts. I think it’s stupid but it’s just another regression from progress for some reason…

but in the global north there is that kind of "consumerist snobbery" as AssortedBiscuits called it. It's getting less common every day now as things get more expensive.

I think, too, it’s an indoctrination by the corpos and media that piracy is highly illegal and that you can get arrested for it. Some people I talked to see it like stealing from a store.

Interestingly, hanitizer is what I call the sanitizing stuff you put on you hands.

I was overweight through my teens and into my adult life. I finally got down to a healthy weight by having a partner who would hold me accountable about working out and eating healthy. I am at a healthy weight now (not my ideal) but I have fat in the wrong places that I can’t get rid of (lower belly, thighs). I look good in most clothes, but I hate wearing bathing suits and yoga pants (I love yoga so I still do) because they emphasize those parts. 😭

I guess to answer the question, most of the time I’m good with the way my body looks with clothes on, but I struggle with it still.

Also, anyone who has lost major weight knows it takes a long time for your body to “bounce back” (the saggy skin drawing back) and my body isn’t quite finished with that yet. I will say, it’s so much better than it was for anyone experiencing this. It just takes time.
