I’m just posting this because I’m kind of excited and I wanted to share with someone. I reconnected with some of my old friends and we are going to get together virtually and do a RPG together! I’m not sure yet how things will go with scheduling, etc. and I don’t know if all my old friends will participate (2/6 so far), but I’m really hopeful! I think this will help purposefully bring us together and give us an “excuse” to be in each other’s lives, which is something I’ve been in dire need of lately. Just the thought fills me with hope and pulls me out of my bullshit doomerism I’ve been in lately!

How do you guys keep connected with your long distance friends?

Edit: committed friends up to 5/6. Unfortunately, I got a nope for the last one. They said they left the past in the past for a reason (oof) and nothing personal against me, and I keep trying to tell that last part to my brain. I guess it’s like grieving, I just need to feel it until I don’t. 😢

Hello everyone. I am looking for a website or app where I can make a playlist and it generates a link where people can listen to it. I have it made on Spotify already but, for opsec (is that the right term?) reasons, I don’t want to share that one. Does anyone know of a good one? Obviously, I could make it on YouTube, but I prefer a less corporate solution (if there is one). Thanks!

First, I’d like to say how much I appreciate the Thunder app. It had been overall great!

Lately, just in the past couple days, I’ve been having problems with it showing some images. Most noticeable is the Hexbear stickers.

This is what it looks like on my mobile browser:

And this is how it looks in the Thunder app lately:

As you can see, it isn’t all of them, only some of them that won’t show. It seems like it is only happening in more recent posts, and seems to be mostly the hexbear stickers, but it also seems like some articles’ thumbnails and some uploaded pictures are broken too.

I was wondering if this was happening to others, if there’s a quick fix I could try, or if anyone knows the issue before I submit it as a bug on GitHub. Thanks!

Edit: Can I get some feedback on the downvotes? Is it just because you guys don’t like Hexbear? Because that’s one of the reasons I use Thunder. If it’s something else, like this is a dumb question or “duh, that’s a bug, why not just submit it?”, please let me know. I’m just trying to do the right thing and not waste anyone’s time.

Trump backtracks on campaign pledge to bring down grocery prices

The president-elect walked back what was always a wildly unrealistic campaign promise.

President-elect Donald Trump admitted in an interview with Time magazine that it will be difficult for him to reduce consumer prices, contrary to statements he made on the campaign trail this year.

Trump told Time in an hourlong interview for its “Person of the Year” feature that his presidency wouldn’t be a failure if he failed to bring the price of groceries down.

“I’d like to bring them down. It’s hard to bring things down once they’re up. You know, it’s very hard. But I think that they will,” Trump said, according to the transcript.

Trump is right that it’s very hard to achieve across-the-board price reductions. Curbing inflation is only a matter of slowing the rate of price increases — actual economy-wide price drops typically don’t happen outside of a massive economic downturn.

Nevertheless, Trump repeatedly told voters during the campaign that electing him president would cause prices to tumble.
