The Fifth Element.
Thanks so much! You're truly awesome.
Plex or Jellyfin might be what you're after.
I've read somewhere along the way that this is a Lemmy issue, not an app issue. I believe it's being addressed by the devs.
Just finished listening to the album a couple minutes ago. It's worth checking out. I feel it leans more progressive and groove in spots, but still felt like it was at home here.
What's weird to me is I saw the edit (with the link) on this account, my main account on lemmy.world, when you first posted it, since I clearly followed the link to try it out. I don't know if all the DDoS stuff messed something up or the admins had to restore from an old backup or something, but that edit with the link isn't reflecting anymore on my lemmy.world account or my alt at lemm.ee.
My PC specs have plateaued as of late, but we're both in this picture. 😅
Downloads one instance's communities (and some other settings) to a JSON, then you can upload from that JSON to a new instance. I'm not sure there's anything that quite caters to what you're looking for yet.
I have an alt for my main account. I just link back to my main account from there. I mainly use it when my main instance goes down. Likewise, I link my main account to an older account I had originally that I migrated from (all same username). That way, even if my new/alt looks really new, if someone cared enough, they could follow the trail backward to other older accounts.
LASIM works great. Used it to migrate my main account to an alt for when my main instance inevitably goes down.
~~kbin.social is the main instance, but there are others. Check out the GitHub for more info.~~
It seems kbin is dead and unmaintained. However, it seems there is now mbin, a kbin fork. A list of instances can be found here: https://joinmbin.org/servers/
