I do the same, I prefer to listen to my own music/podcasts or just appreciate the silence. I played 98% of disco elysium on my deck with the sound off entirely and don’t feel like I missed anything. I tend to hyper focus and block out sound when I’m fully engaged with something anyway, silence helps me focus more easily.

I learned my gf’s last name from hotel staff calling her “Obana san” this morning, stifling a giggle and not just saying “Obama” over and over was quite the herculean feat boohoo

I’m in Sapporo right now and it’s unfortunately nearly burger levels of car brain. The buses and trains run once or twice an hour with very limited routes, I couldn’t even go to the big national park just south of here via public transit. My gf was quite shocked at how poor the public transit here compared to Tokyo so just be aware that if you come to Hokkaido you really need a car

Yeah I went to a pro Palestine protest in shibuya a few weeks ago, it was super cool! Everyone in the crowd was vibing, not a single Zionist to be seen

Huh I never personally felt that wearing a mask was traumatizing, my mom dying directly as a result of people just deciding covid was over and not masking anymore certainly was though. My brother helplessly watching dozens of people die in front of him as a healthcare worker probably was more traumatic than wearing a mask but idk maybe we’re just too inconsiderate of the poor folks that had to suffer the inconvenience of wearing them

Me but even as a ten year old I could see how ridiculous and arbitrary it was, making me completely drop even the slightest belief in religion. Genuinely can’t comprehend the brain that sincerely believes “yeah actually witchcraft is a serious existential threat and even mentioning it in fiction is dangerous”

I tried doing that and the fuckers sent my account to a collections agency that hounded me nonstop for months and damaged my credit score. All over like $40 they refused to drop because my written cancellation was submitted by my ex to cancel both of our memberships rather than me personally submitting it

Oh hell yeah buddy, I just got back from climbing a couple mountains today! Get out there and enjoy nature, hopefully there’s still something worth coming back to after

I’m surprised he didn’t mention AMLO’s very close relationship with Sheinbaum as a way they’re deliberately subverting the rules or some other deranged shit lol. I’m curious if there’s a single quantifiable metric behind the “liberal democracy index”, this really just reads like a badposting bit

I at least have to give him a little respect for outright saying “I am the guy in the suit” instead of pretending to be a salt of the earth blue collar yeehaw man. Makes it abundantly clear to even the most uninformed reading this where his class interests lie and may help them connect the dots to understand who exactly it is that hates unions
