Legitimately, how do you? Without prior knowledge of the direction you are facing and the sun is right above you or you can't see it.

Cardinal directions have always been hard for me and I'm only now just starting to use them out of job necessity.

Left and right takes a second most of the time, ask me to look north and it's going to be a long while.

If I'm somewhere new or lost like op, it's just cruel to say "go west"

Right, so how about $12.50 for $25gb?

Is there actually a sizeable population that needs 100gb? Maybe there is a small use case, but I have yet to meet one of these people.

You are getting down voted because you said the dirty private word, but you are entirely right.

Id say the bigger problem might be your employer Heath insurance company can tell you no to opting out.

I've never understood how we haven't been considered employees as gig workers.

The only difference from a typical job is that you can "turn off" your job when it's convenient.

You dont get say in the jobs you take, or you don't get all the information to mislead you into taking poor jobs. Sometimes both (looking at you door dash)

Instacart sends you a t4a at the end of the year, and you are for tax purposes considered to have worked for them. But they don't have to pay into any of our various employee protections because loopholes?

They can terminate your "not employment" at any time for any reason and use this as a method to force you to do things you don't want to.

All while paying you less than minimum wage. Instacart specifically is very bad for this. They give you a "predicted shop time " which will often be in the realm of 30-40 mins + 10-20 travel time to and from the store. And the batch will be valued at less then $15m

If then acknowledge that the job will take X amount of time, the base pay needs to hit $15/h x est time.

Same goes for all gig jobs.

Simply put, I need to buy groceries.

It's not that I will have issues learning or researching, it is that I don't have the time too.

If the barrier to using Linux is needing to spend time troubleshooting and researching to do simple tasks, I just won't.

So far this thread has been very enlightening to me, I'm excited to try something new. But my OS is not my hobby.

Do we want more orphans and teen mothers stuck in abusive relationships?

The unfortunate answer to that question is yes, they do. Uneducated people vote blue, abused mothers vote what their abuser votes for out of fear. They need to feed the cycle that the church started and we are just starting to climb out of.

There is a reason that the church is anti-sex-ed, it doesn't survive without people raised in it.

FAQs:

-Is it really that windy?

Yes! We average a 16-20km wind year round! You get used to it quite quickly, The wind is much worse in the less developed communities in the deep west and south.

-Lethbridge ranked really high on the crime index! Is it dangerous?

While Lethbridge and Area has a high rate of crime per capita, most of the reported crime is petty theft or trespassing. Unlike the larger cities in Alberta, Lethbridge has little to no violent crime. I wouldn't leave my car unlocked.

-How expensive is it to live in Lethbridge?

While it varies from area to area, overall Lethbridge was recently rated as one of the cheapest places to live in Canada!

Buyers: A new house in one if the new communities will probably start around $500,000-$600,000, whereas a house in the old north can go for less than $200,000.

Renters: Students can likely find lots of rooms available nearby the college or university for $600-$800 (?)/ month. Basement suites usually run in the $1000-$1500(?)/ month range and for a full unit I would expect to pay $1600-$2400/month.

These numbers are from my own experience over the last few years, if anyone has more recent number feel free to comment and I will update!

-North, South and West?

Lethbridge is broken up into 3 main sections, each with their own advantages and drawbacks. The North and South are separated from the west by a large coulee and the Old Man River down in the coulee is tones of public parkland!

-How is public transportation?

Comparatively to a larger city, our public transportation is pretty terrible. You will need to budget at least 30 minuets to get anywhere on the same side of the city as you and at least an hour if you want to cross the bridge.
