Well they got rich that way, so they probably don't see a downside.
I'm not from NY but I'm definitely watching this as a bell weather for how fucked we are with the controlled opposition party. I read a couple more people from the DNC expressed wanting a change since Hogg got recalled. We need fighters and not people maintaining the status quo.
It was a Tuesday.
We (Marines floating in a Navy ship) got those shots after being shown a power point on ship. It showed pics on someone that scratched the scab and got his eye infected with small pox. Everyone was scared about having their scab fall off and treated it like an extreme biohazard.
Probably better to be over cautious though.
How should the choice be made which one to use?
Use tolerance as a social contract instead of a default "everyone is tolerated" type. If you don't tolerate someone else in society then you are no longer tolerated. Seems simple to me.
Now you might say, but the people that want to be called a certain pronoun aren't tolerating the hatred of another group that wants to address them "however they see fit". Well that 2nd group isn't tolerating the first group. The first group was just living and the second group started the intolerance. Also, if you use hatred to justify why you should be tolerated then you lost the fight.

Great 1st season arc. I would add, not killed. Arrested then pardoned, but not before befriending some right wing militia that swears they captured Bigfoot and are breeding and training him to make super soldiers.
