Having done that unprompted at a cool old church (lotsa Yew trees), I can say that it is pretty entertaining.

Yeah, the original collapse discord is still pretty good for actual information and discussion, at least from my rare pop over to have a look. Generally better politics as well.

I missed the drama, but I think as the subreddit diverged from that, they made their own more lib-aligned discord.

Absolutely this on confidence. The first and most essential step is letting yourself be someone who can solve the problem. Next is being careful about it, sure.

Another big part is just careful attention to the parts available, as a huge number of intimidating problems (especially in plumbing) are solved by carefully browsing the catalogue and following up on the leads it offers.

Straight outta Touhou it seems.

Ah yes, the "researchers think best on no sleep, intense stress, and no life" approach.

Afterall, it's not like they're doing real work - like golf meetings and lazy financial crimes - because that would imply their lives have value and they do something their bosses cannot. They're just mobile tools, and can simply run for longer, so I dunno, set a big bowl of modafinil and protein slurry in the lounge, they like that crap right? I gotta practice my swing.

The demo for Crackdown was great, it was a full section of the game with a 20-30 minute time limit. Perfect for a quick run through.

Well, hell then, build it. All the techbros will get lost in the labyrinth and eat each other.

All I remember of it is that journalists are the real heroes, pictures are exactly like bullets, and that any mention of politics would get in the way of a civil war movie.

He should have done a Fatal Frame movie instead.

Random aside, but Battle Angel Alita did the wartime-journalist-as-voyeur side story better!

THE LAW'S REACH NEVER STRETCHED THIS FAR

Someone was paid to write this. Or paid to prompt an LLM and copypaste this.

Possibly an entire group of people spent several days workshopping this.

Possibly from Climate Leviathan.
