Today's game is Fallout 76. I went ahead and did one of the Ally missions in the game. They're like the companions from Fallout 4, except they squat at your base 24/7. The ally i did was an astronaut lady who fell to earth after being in space when the bombs drop. She had me go to this Manor to recover some codes for something. The whole place was infested with Mothman Cultists. Luckily i was able to pick them all off with a sniper rifle without getting swarmed.

On the way there, i found this Scrapper hanging out on a cliff with a clipboard. I was confused what they were doing up there and why they looked like some health and safety inspector. They said they were checking out the landscape and pointed me to the same manor i was heading towards. Never got an answer for the weird getup, but i like to imagine they're apocalypse OSHA.

After the codes, i had to go into this mall for a Receiver of some sort, which was full of scorched (who are like feral ghouls but can use weapons). I snuck through the entire thing without being seen to avoid conflict because all my crowd control weapons were broken.

Somehow i managed to get through this Scorched infested mall without so much as being seen. The silent crossbow made it easy too, but i was able to mostly sneak in, grab the receiver, and sneak out. the most harm to me came in me catching a waterborne disease while wading through a room full of water.

To end off my night i popped home, finished up that quest, collected my water, and fished for the next 10 minutes. A nice and relaxing way to end off my day.

It’s how i have all the free time i do lol

Today's game is some more Starfield. I continued on with the main story and met up with another member of the main faction (Constellation). Before going to talk to the guy i went rummaging around for stuff i was allowed to swipe to use for crafting. I ended up stopping in one of these tunnels and seeing a gorgeous view of the neighboring planet. I ended up just kind of stopping for a bit and enjoying the view (while eating dinner). Almost makes me wish for a VR version of this game, but also with No Man's Sky that might be a bit redundant.

The main story took me to this cavern to get another relic like the one from the beginning of the game. I had to fight my way through a cave of Spacers though (like Space Raiders). The whole cave system had a massive drop at the end which gave me Dunwhich Bores vibes from Fallout 4. Part of me wonders now if this game has any Lovecraft references like Fallout does. It would be a missed opportunity with the whole space thing.

After collecting the Artifact, i decided to step away from the main story and chase after this side quest i got from a slate. It took me to this hide out taken over by Spacers, and it turned out to be owned by this vigilante called the mantis. To get through i had to do this letter puzzle like in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. It was really cool seeing something like this done in a Sci-fi game.

The quest gave me a spacesuit that i was going to share an image of, but it turned out to be nearly 20 mb in size no matter how i compressed it and lemmy wont upload something like that for me, and pixelfed limits everything over 15 mb. It was this sleek white armor though. It looks neat, not to my personal taste though.

The quest also gives you a cool spaceship to go along with it called the Razorlead. I think i'm still going to keep the abomination i made as my home ship, but having this to use is nice. There were some armor stands in the upper area where i dropped off the armor set since i wasn't going to use it. Figured it deserved at least a proper home. No stand for the suit itself unfortunately, just the helmet and the backpack.

Sackboy a Big Adventure. Absolutely no ill will towards it, and the issue may lie more with me than the game, but it just felt very "okay" for me.

You're all good! I've been thinking about reaching out to the mods myself, but i've been a bit of a fence sitter myself on the matter.

I was going too, someone suggested the same thing before (in fact, it may have been you because your username is familiar).

But I found out literally the day that i was going to change it that I was put on the sidebar of the community and it uses the posts’s title to search for it. I’m not sure how many people use that as opposed to just letting me naturally show up in their feed so I’m hesitant to mess with it

Today's game is some more Minecraft Xbox 360 edition. I went back to the Nether today to finally gather all the Blaze Rods i need to head to the end. I think i got enough, but i'm not sure. I got 4 rods, which made 8 powder. That should be enough to find and fill the portal (especially since i believe Eyes of Ender don't break in this version.

I built a cobblestone box around my spawner i found and camped out with my sword. I stayed there taking swipes at them until my sword broke. I got the 4 Blaze Rods i mentioned above there. On the trip back it was a bit of a headache because there were nearly 5 Ghasts all chasing me. I was lucky my staircase back to the portal was deeply inset enough that they couldn't reach me or else it would have been a problem.

When i got back it was dark out, and i got to see my new lights i set up in action for the first time. The way they played with the Jungle was very pretty to see. My personal favorite was the cave entrance where i have the portal stored. The gradient of dark to light in the cave is very mesmerizing to see.

I got back and immediately stashed away my Blaze Powder for safe keeping. I don't want to die and lose it. Next up to do is replace my iron sword and hunt down 8 endermen so i can find the strong hold. I might try finding some more diamonds too along with getting book cases. I rarely ever do the Ender Dragon fight and this is the first time i've done it Solo, so i'd like to try and do it proper this time. Get the authentic minecraft experience if that makes sense.

I think borderlands 3 is the only one borderlands I haven’t played at some point lol. I’ll have to pick it up at some point

I briefly looked at it and the coverage of games is crazy. I think I even saw the Skyrim multiplayer mod

Today's game is some more Starfield. I neglected the Main quest for a bit to go off and join a faction along with decking out my Crew. I found the Adoring fan, immediately he was the first addition to my crew. Love the guy and i'm so happy to have him back. I also had Sarah join the crew just to fill out the slots.

At the bar in New Atlantis, i picked up two other people as well. The first is Simeon Bankowski. He used to be some sort of Field Weapon's Tester for the UC Military. He decided he was tired of going off to deserted planets to test weapons and retired. That's when i found him and hired him.

The second one is Marika Boros. I didn't pry too much into her past though and just hired her (responsible practice, i know). She's had a big problem with sleeping the bed in the Captain's Quarters. I mean, i rarely use it so okay i guess. But it's still a bit creepy to sleep in someone else's bed.

I've been spending a lot of time in New Atlantis doing diplomatic work after joining the Vanguard and fighting off a terrormorph invasion. After a long questline, i walked out of the building, and just stopped to chill. I wandered up to this tree, and man. Say what you will about the gameplay but this game really gets it's graphics right. The whole game feels really prettily made, at least from what i've seen so far.

I ended off for the night by finally picking up the main story and going to the moon. Or, well, a space station orbiting the moon. I play in first person, and it was really cool to see the scale of it upfront. I'm a sucker for Sci-Fi things with massive scale, that's part of what made Star Trek one of my favorite series growing up. They really had some moments that showed off the scale of ships.

There was one last thing i wanted to show off though and that is that i discovered the ship builder and bastardized the Frontier. It's now 3x as long and as a result of the extra mass i had to give it a better engine. I don't think this thing counts as the "Classic" it was anymore. I'm loving the stupid ship builder because despite all the regulations i can make the stupidest looking ships ever and no one can tell me no. At some point i want to just try and make a horribly long one and see if it will let me.

I don't have many on PC, but basically any TT Lego Game comes to mind, along with Sackboy a Big Adventure and The Escapist 2. That's like a decent 75% of my splitscreen PC library though lol

[–] [email protected] 3 points 3 days ago (8 children)

I'd kill for more modern splitscreen games, especially on PC

The legacy console editions of Minecraft have always done a good job in my opinion as a tutorial. It's hard to skip it (or at least was for me) and it really walks you through the basics. Then you have the choice of learning more or just... going out and playing minecraft

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 days ago

The post launch QOL updates are giving me major No Man's Sky vibes. Maybe it's just because they're both Sci-Fi though

[–] [email protected] 2 points 3 days ago

Someone else had mentioned it was hidden by default, but also gave instructions on how to turn it back off. I must have turned it on at one point when messing around with settings and just forgotten, either that or one of the few times i've loaned the profile to close friends they turned it on

If there's a demo i might give it a try. Usually the issue for me with Souls games is less the difficulty and more so just it's rare for me to get used to the control scheme. There have been some exceptions though and i'm always down to give a new thing a try. So the demo probably won't hurt me

Today's screenshot is from Starfield. I know it wasn't very well received, but i looked into it and wanted to give it a try myself. I got it on Discount a while ago (around 35$ if i remember correctly), and was originally going to play a while ago but Oblivion Remastered stopped that. I decided to give it a go though.

My Character is decently Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy inspired. I even took his naming scheme from the book and named him after a car. I'd like to introduce... Hudson Commodore (the man in the main screenshot). I wanted to focus on him being an explorer and talker, so i've been putting points into Social skills and Tech skills, with one going into Weapons damage to make life a little easier for me. I took the Hero worshiped trait which gives you the Adoring Fan. I like to believe it's the same one from my Oblivion save all this years later. Little buddy has returned to me. I'm so happy. First task up for me is to take to the stars and find him.

The game walks a gorgeous line between Futuristic Sci-Fi and what i can only describe as NASA-Punk. Growing up i had always wanted to be an Astronaut, but with it going private and my discovered fear of heights, i quickly ditched that. Still though, i love the Modern-esque space aesthetic, sometimes i feel like Sci-fi stuff tries too hard to make it feel futuristic.

Literally one of the first things the game has you do is fight off some pirates in a satellite station that feels very Fallout Raiders. This brings me to the gunplay, which feels really smooth in my opinion. It feels like a natural linear evolution of Fallout 4's gunplay, and at the very least gives me hope for Elder Scrolls 6's gameplay.

The game then has you go to a a city after you get the Pirates off your ass, and i love the Spaceport. It has an airport feel too it that i love. I feel like it would have been easy for them to just go "Yep, Sci-fi, landing pad, end of story" but there's this whole Airport vibe of going through Customs and Space Security to get to a Rail System.

The story setup (without too much spoilers) is that you join a Freemason-esque group that explores space, called Constellation. You found this relic thing that they want to put with 3 others. That's about where i stopped on the main story though because i was promised a room for joining the group.

Before being taken to my room i was given a tour of The Lodge (Constellation's headquarters). They have this lovely garden and a bar i was told that i could just help myself too. I saw some skill about food crafting, and i'm really hoping that extends too Drinks too. If it does and they don't have a recipe for a pan galactic gargle blaster (or some equivalent) i'm going to be severely disappointed.

Finally, i was taken to my room after the bar. It feels very Hotel Room-ish, which is to be expected. It fits the vibe of the plot well in my opinion with it being basically a Dorm/Loan room. I saw they had ship building and outpost building so i was kind of hoping to be able to do my own furniture, but i do still like the decoration.

Today's screenshot is some more Minecraft Xbox 360 edition. Using my new nether portal i finally got to make last time i took a trip to the nether, i went and gathered some glowstone for my tunnel i built to light it up to help cut back on torches and light it up a little more.

The trip was fairly easy. There was a nether fortress right next to the portal that i could quickly tunnel over too to rummage around in. I used that to get close to a glowstone deposit.

I ended up finding one outcrop fairly close to the Portal just up a few floors after i had to escape from some Blazes and Ghast's firing on me like it was a Battle FIeld. It gave me a little over a stack of glowstone which was more than enough for my tunnel.

On the way back i found the spawner that the blazes were coming from. I went ahead and lit it up to stop them from spawning for now. My hopes are too get some Blaze Rods to get to the end soon, i'll need to gear up for it though because Blaze's have always been a bit of a challenge for me. Maybe it's time i pick up potion brewing and make a potion of fire resistance.

After that excursion i made my way home, which luckily turned out to be easy to find. I was worried i'd lose the portal but the Nether Fortress turned out to be easy to navigate. I went home and made the glowstone blocks and installed them all before stopping for the night. Next time i want to see about getting the Blaze Rods or maybe hunting some Endermen.

Today's game is Oblivion Remastered. I planned for the last one to be the last post, but the crashing kept me from finishing the Fighter's Guild Quest. I powered through though and finished it. I was hoping to do 100% of the quests, but the crashing just became so bad, that i settled for what Steam considers 100%. So main story, shivering isles, and Guild Quests.

Before i ended my playthrough i had a few stops. The first was that i wanted to get a screenshot of the City, which was the very first screenshot of this i did. I used the freecam again to get this one. I tried Console commands to disable the HUD but couldn't get them to work for whatever reason.

I also spent a while wandering around Chorrol for a little while at night. It's a pretty city and one of my favorites so i wanted to see it one last time. But there was one final stop i had to make to see a special someone...

And that was the adoring fan. I visited him in the house i bought for him. I meant to get a decent photo of his face but got a little sidetracked messing around with the freecam. Instead i turned out with some of these beauties:

And that was where i ended my playthrough. My hero of Kvatch retired to his Waterfront shack to live out the rest of his days with the Adoring Fan. I like to imagine when he reappears as the Sheogorath in Skyrim, he was driven mad by his time with the Adoring Fan.

Today's game is REPO. Look at this guy with a pointy hat i found. We ended up getting a quite few cycles in, before dying, so we kept starting over lol. The game overall was just behaving really weirdly too.

For example the Reaper got stuck in place for an entire level. I even went right up to her and got in her face and started yelling. Nothing. She didn't even get Agro'd. We didn't complain though, allowed us to finish without much issue, that is until my friend get struck by the head coming flying into the room and the Animal trampling us all. We all made it out though luckily.

We also found the Eyeball just... chilling on the floor. Harmless. We stood on it, jumped on it, lunged into it, even kissed it. Nothing. We ended up leaving it there. It was cool too see the top of the model though since we don't usually get to see that.

During one of the levels in the museum two of my friends stopped for a solid ten minutes to try and read a sign. I'm so proud of them for learning! In all honesty though it took them a while because the text was all squiggles so it was hard to read.

The last level we did we got fenced in by 3 Bowties (these guys that turn into giant fans that kill you). They bugged out and could see us through things for some reason and killed all of us, and then on of their friends on Accident. It was fun seeing the horde of Big White Lumpy things though stampede through the house before our sudden death.

Today's game is Oblivion Remaster. While playing Fallout 76 i realized I've been putting this off, so i resolved to finish it tonight. I didn't end up doing that but I'm like 5 quests away from finishing the last Guild Quest line, which is the Fighter's guild. Hopefully today will be the last post for Oblivion, but i wouldn't be surprised if tomorrow's is also because of how frequently the game crashes now. It could easily drag out to like 4 hours.

I took the above screenshot it a Chapel while doing a quest to track down Ectoplasm. I broke into the basement and killed all their ghosts. I have no clue why this Chapel just has a Haunting of Ghosts in it's basement, but i solved the problem for them regardless.

I also did the quest where i have to track down Blackheart, and let me tell you, this quest was miserable. I have to wait for this guy to walk too this specific spot, and i have to walk with him while he does it. It's slow and tedious. And before that i had to finagle him into just the right position to get him to start a dialog line.

Another quest the game had me do was one where i escort a Mage to a Deadric shrine. The quest was pretty simple, and i was honestly expecting it to turn out she turns on you or tries to sacrifice you or something. But nope, you just walk down there with her and then leave. All in all a pretty simple quest.

The final quest i did was one where i went and rescued this Orc Noble's daughter from Ogres when they kidnapped her while she was picking rocks. It was all in all a pretty simple quest. I was expecting to have too delve into a dungeon or something. But nope. I just go out too the woods a few yards away and kill the Ogres. It was a quick process. It honestly took longer to get there then to do the quest. I like the characters though, so i still enjoyed it.

Today's game is Fallout 76. Me and my Friend hopped on too play the new fishing mechanic they added, and i also ended up redoing a decent chunk of my base. I moved it to the mire and i really like how it turned out.

I have this shed/barn thing i built for my Companion because she's scripted to go hang out at the computer from time to time. Because of that i gave her a little workshop to work in, complete with workstations and the like.

Inside has a Log Cabin design too it. I have my bed behind that half wall there and a mounted Wendigo on the wall above the couch. There's also a piano for musical purposes. The floor does have an issue with Grass clipping in which is a bit annoying, but besides that i really like the way it looks.

While we were spot hunting for the house, me and my friend stumbled on a Mirelurk Queen which we killed. Midway through the fight she just got stuck in an act of classic Bethesda jank. While my friend took close range with a shotgun i stayed behind and took Sniper Shots with a hunting rifle with a scope i have.

I also mentioned the new Fishing update, which has this weird fish guy who can only growl, and a hermit crab living in a boat as a shell. The fish guy reminds me of the Mirelurks from New Vegas/3, so part of me wonders if that is what the guy is. If not that then maybe something similar.

The whole fishing quest centers around this really pretty and spooky swamp area. I found a note showing what seems to be more of the games Lovecraft-esque lore which is really interesting. I googled it and it seems to be about a being called The Interloper which is like a sentient root creature. It's really interesting, I'm hoping they do more with it, especially since they haven't abandoned the game yet (even after it catastrophic launch)

Today is some more Stellaris. I did some multiplayer with a friend this time. He has a bunch of mods on that i added. Some serious. Some... not so much. I ended up going with a mod he had that added a Catgirl race for my empire, so you can guess which of the two categories it fell into.

At first i decided to just throw myself into the memey side of it (as you can tell by the default names). But then, i made them a ring world dwelling species and got a little too invested in world building. Now they're a Monarchy led by a female regnant, called a Queen (But, like, in the term for a Non-Spayed Cat, because the empire is kind of like their child), then the heir is a Molly (Which in irl cats is the term for a Spayed cat, which as the heir wouldn't be able to have the 'Child' (Empire). This made a lot more sense in my head the other day at 12 AM when i first made them in the server). I've made them diplomatic and social empire, but with Policies that allow them to invade others if it's for their defense, though even then they're generally pretty nice with all the people the invade. Mostly because they're Xenophiles.

My friend, who is the Mertillian Empire (you can see it in the main screenshot above that big pink one), has some fun lore for his species too. I don't know all of it but they're a fungal race who's a "dictatorship but they elect the dictator based on who can lay the most spores. Their leader is called a spore mother". He's trying to play a fully diplomatic and isolationist empire, but i keep pulling him into my wars.

The first were these guys. They kept getting really pissy with me, and i kept trying to make friends. They eventually got their affinity to start plummeting though for some reason, so i took them along with my friend and made them a Vassal State. The terms are actually pretty innocent. They basically get full sovereignty, i just reserve the right to absorb them into my empire if i want. (honestly though i like them, they're pretty chill now that they stopped being Xenophobic)

These guys just straight up offered themselves as a Vassal State. I said yes, though their terms state that if we go to war they have to help me. In return though i'll do the same thing. I also am allowed to reserve the right to dissolve them into my country though.

All this war prep is for these guys. They've had a big problem with trying to wipe out everyone else. Me and my Friend briefly held them in a federation so they couldn't invade anyone, but we've been gathering allies to help invade them. I intend to make them a Vassal, at least for now, so they don't keep picking fights. Ultimately though me and my friend are debating seeing if we can just take over the map to unify the galaxy for the Crisis. We'll have to see though, i'm not too keen on the idea of absorbing an entire Empire just yet.

Today's game is some more REPO. Me and my friends finally got a chance to give the new Beta a try and we've been having a lot of fun. One of our favorite things is the Lazer Gun Thingy they added. We've only seen one but when we first found it i accidentally used it to kill my entire party because i didn't realize it's like a full 10 seconds in lazer length. I ended up trying to flush the evidence in the screenshot above.

The art museum Map has also been getting a bunch of fun new paintings. I've been having fun just going to look at all the different ones. My favorite is one of what i believe is the head, i've also seen one for the Bowtie (pictured above) and the Eye.

I've discovered the game has an option to turn off the filter, which i'm wishing i had discovered sooner because the filter absolutely butchers screenshots, especially the ones steam saves as a JPG. For example the screenshot above: It had really cool creepy hallway vibes but the photo is absolutely butchered. it's darker than it was in game and grainier too.

Today for the most part it was just me and two other friends. The others that usually join me were busy with something else. Most of our levels went smoothly, except for the last one where a Huntsman came in and wrecked them right as we got in the truck. I managed to make a run for the switch though right as the huntsman was dealing with them. I got this cute picture of us hiding under the counter.
