Yeah the CBC spends a lot of time talking about illegal border crossings to imply that has something to do with it, but there's no information about what actually happened. Either way, this coupled with the executive order Trump signed to take "complete operational control" of the borders (this is one of the only bits of his orders that was worded to include the border with Canada, whereas most of the language of his orders yesterday specified the southern border) and all the premiers pushing for tougher borders to appease him and mitigate the tariffs...seems that the northern border is about to get more militarized

This is largely the no-more moderating hate speech order, but this bit is pretty sweeping: "The Attorney General, in consultation with the heads of executive departments and agencies, shall investigate the activities of the Federal Government over the last 4 years that are inconsistent with the purposes and policies of this order and prepare a report to be submitted to the President, through the Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy, with recommendations for appropriate remedial actions to be taken based on the findings of the report."
The Attorney General's office is going to be busy as hell keeping up with all these wide-scale audits of Biden's regime that pretty much every order calls for. Altogether, these orders point to sweeping retaliation within the fed for the past four years, and an explicit threat to get in line for the next four. Not unexpected, of course.
"ENDING THE WEAPONIZATION OF THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT"
This one is where every federal department gets audited for any actions they may have taken against Republicans or their friends over the past four years. This one is written so non-threateningly, but is open-ended enough to be used as a purge of pretty much every department of the fed, with threats of non-compliance to " be referred to the Attorney General."
"RESTORING THE DEATH PENALTY AND PROTECTING PUBLIC SAFETY"
This includes pursuing death penalties for anyone who kills a cop "regardless of other factors" and for any "illegal aliens" who commit a capital offense.
It also includes this terrible bit: "The Attorney General shall evaluate the places of imprisonment and conditions of confinement for each of the 37 murderers whose Federal death sentences were commuted by President Biden, and the Attorney General shall take all lawful and appropriate action to ensure that these offenders are imprisoned in conditions consistent with the monstrosity of their crimes and the threats they pose."
Where they will punish people who were commuted by Biden by ensuring that if they can't give them the death penalty they can give them a life of torture.
I think you're missing the possibility of Trump passing and then Vance passing after that. Four presidents could still happen this very year.
Ah, that makes sense, if you do it that way you're avoiding having the version that they pushed to all US accounts that now redirects to the ban message. Interesting, I had assumed they also banned US SIM cards like they did in India, but I guess they just implemented the version redirect. Probably figured that was sufficient.

When India banned it they banned it for all Indian SIM cards, so you have to remove your SIM and use a VPN, but even that won't work for the US ban. They rolled out a specific app version for people in the US, and then set that to just load the ban message, so anyone who installed it in the US can't access it even if they remove their SIM and use a VPN. They're also banning US accounts, so it's not even certain that getting a hold of an international phone with an unblocked version would let you access your account if you're American.
Edit: you'd probably be able to get on TikTok if you got a non-US phone with the app, connected without a SIM and on a VPN, and using a non-US account. (Disclaimer: I've never used TikTok so I am not sure this would work, and it's a lot of effort to go to for some videos anyway)
