They are so fucking dumb. USPS vehicles are maybe the most perfect usecase for EV implementation. They're typically shorter range, constantly stop-and-go, smaller and lighter than most modern cars, and a shitload of the existing fleet is like 50 years old and badly needs a refresh anyway. And now that the money has been spent on developing and introducing this great idea, they just want to trash it?

The deeper cost is that there are way fewer white collar do-nothings tampering with frivolities to justify their paychecks. That and subsidizing tech and infrastructure (including EVs) like any responsible country would and should do. It's the sort of investment that any dipshit who's played a Civilization game should be able to comprehend.

Capitalism trusts corporations to invest in the right things for the future, but they're not thinking about 10-50 years from now. Their goal is short term profits. Show growth for the next couple of quarters. But really they're just trying to not get eaten by a bear, and you don't need to run faster than a bear to achieve that; you just need to run faster than the guy next to you. Chevy and Ford have done a decent job competing with each other, but they'd be blown out of the fucking water by BYD, and that's why they're tariffed to hell and back in the US.

The oligarchs demand a new generation of laborers. How can the shareholders be confident in infinite exponential growth without an ever growing pool of labor and consumers? Never you mind whether anybody is prosperous enough to afford to be consumers. That's an issue we can wait until next quarter to worry about. By then, we'll have laid off half of the laborers and replaced them with AI.
What's that? If everybody is laying off laborers in favor of AI, who will be left to buy our products and services, you ask? Lol idk, my job is to just make line go up at all costs.

If Elon were smart, he would've just shut the fuck up and quietly enjoyed his hundreds of billions of dollars instead of jumping headfirst into culture war to prove what a funny edgelord he is.

How dope would it be if the future were that AOC is the moderate, establishment Dem leader of the House uniting further left Dem reps with other moderate reps like herself. Because in reality, she and Sanders are pretty centrist, but they're painted as extreme far left because the wealthy are afraid of how effective they are.
