Recently finished university and got my first job in basic accounting. All I do is well, watch videos on phone, messages people and a bit of accounting here and there. Boring, relaxing and that’s about it. Going to stick with it for a year and then prolly find new work.
The more I read about Nintendo, the more genuine dislike I get for them. The only thing I read, hear and see are negative bullshit for some petty reason they’ve.
I hate how such a shit company holds so many good nostalgic games. Truly hoping for a quick hack on the Switch 2 and a PC emulation (and I hope truly, hope that Palworld wins the whole fiasco).
Can’t read the article due to being at work but the title makes me smile. His actions actually have consequences. However, I’m curious whether it actually ‘hits’ his wealth.
Two quotes/ statements from a book named “The Midnight Library” ;
-
“If you aim to be something you are not, you will always fail. Aim to be you. Aim to look and act and think like you. Aim to be the truest version of you. Embrace that you-ness. Endorse it. Love it. Work hard at it. And don't give a second thought when people mock it or ridicule it. Most gossip is envy in disguise”.
-
“Never underestimate the big importance of small things”.
At the moment reading The Book Thief and Careless People. Currently more busy with The Book Thief (about ~100 pages in).
I wonder how people will show off all of the books they haven't read, what with analogs going out of stye and all.
I don’t know whether this is sarcasm or not, can’t figure it out. But if isn’t, well, I suppose they won’t.
Reading is usually for oneself and not to show off, so I assume, people who purchase such a thing wouldn’t care about showing off.
I like reading normal books but, I currently prefer devices (I.E screens) because it’s easier to carry around, multiple books possible and less preying eyes “what are you reading”.
The moment this becomes an obligation for each person, no matter what, I’ll just quit Discord. I’m tired of stuff like this.
If people want to do bad stuff, they will find a way no matter what anyway.
Yeah, no. It is not the only place to play Mario. There’s emulation and Piracy. I’m quite certain skilled people will try to hack the Switch 2 and sooner or later there will be a Switch 2 emulation (although might take a while). €80-90 euro for one single game is nuts.
The only reason I would purchase a Switch 2 is when it is capable of being hacked.
Yeah, I have. Back then I was active in a lot of political and semi-political communities, at first it was pretty decent and people were polite, debates with actual facts and links to trustable sources.
After a while though, people become more hostile, insulting and debated with emotions and zero facts. I just grew tired of it and wasn’t really active in any other community. So I left for 4-6 months.
Then one day got bored, decided to return to Lemmy but unsubscribed from every political community and I straight up blocked anyone who’s being a douche. I now stick a few communities (Piracy, gaming and books).
You can change your context with a new console, but I think it may be cheaper to do something like buying a controller and playing games while standing up, or on your couch/armchair
I will try this! Will try the standing. Though, eventually I’ll sit due just tired of standing up. The gaming PC is in my bedroom so there’s not really much room for couch and such.
I have a controller that, I often use but same issue happens of being exhausted of the feeling ‘being behind a desk and screen’.
You can also achieve this by identifying the things that you have to do in your job that mirror videogame genres you enjoy and picking a game that shares few of those qualities.
The thing is, I don’t think anything mirrors my work. I currently have a very basic accounting job and it’s not even that demanding. My work week exists of a mix with doing accounting, listen to podcasts, watching videos on phone and such.
It’s one of the most relax work I have ever had to be honest. Yet it’s the first job where this feeling of exhaustion started.
If I could download a car and use it in real life, I certainly would.
