Well, congrats Miami and @orangeNgreen! Once you guys lost to UNC I figured we would drop this game. We’ll be fighting for the bottom of the ACC this season, watch out UVA! Guess we just gotta pick up the pieces and look forward to the next one. Go Tigers

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

That’ll do it. We won’t be able to respond to that. Our drive will end with an interception probably.

It’s the FSU game all over again

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

This Clemson team is not going to win overtime games.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

We don’t have a consistent-enough kicker for OT

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Oh no, another overtime against a Floridian ACC team.. 🫣

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Got one of those feelings that we’re going to play soft defense and Miami is going to walk away with this one.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Guess we still don’t have a fourth-quarter offense. Miami is going to have good field position and only needs a FG to win it.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 years ago

Tough day for ranked North Carolina teams

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 years ago

I ‘member when Clemson used to be up enough in the second half to do this.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 years ago

I don’t know where we are finding our kickers/punters. One of our first needs from the transfer portal if we start taking transfers after this season.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 years ago

Just based on USC being 7.5-point favorites

Here are this week's game results. I didn't have time this week to add a home/away column but I will see if I have time next week to add it in.

^18^ Colorado, ^T-24^ BYU, ^12^ Ole Miss, ^19^ Oregon State, and ^9^ Notre Dame are this week's ranked teams that fell. We didn't have as many upsets as last week, but most top teams still seem vulnerable. I wasn't able to watch many games last night but hopefully ToasterOverlord did and can provide some ranked v. ranked game recaps in the comments.

2023 Week 3 Game Recap (fanaticus.social)
submitted 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago) by [email protected] to c/[email protected]

To make it easier to keep up with each week's games, I want to try and post a weekly recap thread on Sundays. My main goal for this was to help those who may not have watched every game (looking at myself here) to make sure they fill out the weekly /c/CFB poll with accurate game results. I will highlight ranked teams who lost their games to make it easier to see at a glance before filling out the poll. FCS opponents will be italicized.

This week we had three ranked teams drop their games: ^11^Tennessee, ^16^Kansas State, and ^24^Arkansas. All of these teams were favored but couldn't manage to win in the end. We had several ranked teams surprisingly struggle at some point during their games this week, including all of the Top 4 teams, ^10^Alabama, and ^21^Colorado.

Please let me know what other info you might want to see or if you think that this weekly thread will not be helpful.

We are not favored to win, but let’s do it anyways! I believe in Him and today is as good a day as any to show who will be running the AFC.

Discuss the game over here

Duuuval!!

[Coach] Sanders posted a video to his Instagram account on Friday ahead of the Week 3 rivalry game in which Colorado players, during a team meeting, each received a pair of "Coach Prime's" signature glasses from the equipment staff. After players received the glasses, Sanders reiterated that Norvell did Colorado State no favors with his commentary.

"They messed around and made it personal," Sanders said in the video. "I just want to say how y'all look [with the glasses on]. You look good. You look fly. ... They don't realize that they also just helped me with business [in giving you these glasses]. But it's also going to be personal."

Ole Miss defensive tackle DeSanto Rollins [has] filed a lawsuit against the university and Rebels coach Lane Kiffin. In the suit, Rollins accused Kiffin and the school of racial and sexual discrimination and failure to provide equal protection, according to multiple reports.

The lawsuit alleges Kiffin took adverse action against Rollins "on account of race for requesting and taking a mental health break" and showed special treatment toward white athletes. The lawsuit also alleges that the university lacked "written institutional procedures for routine mental health referrals" and treated female athletes' requests for mental health assistance differently.

In a statement to ESPN, Ole Miss officials said they had not received any lawsuit and denied removing Rollins from the roster. As of Thursday, his name was still listed on the Rebels' online roster.
