I use GitKraken, which is pretty great, but for a lot of day to day stuff I just end up using the CLI

...and mail it back once it's full.

Well said, and so true!

Yeah, the "enshittification" concept, I've read this, and definitely agree.

Kbin magazines need to make more use of assigning themselves tags to auto federate content in from, and then to use those same tags when posting. But like, nobody uses hashtags lol

EDIT: I also put an issue request in (202 I think?) to allow setting up that sort of functionality by fediverse link

@pixelpusher220 Awesome, glad I could help!

@pixelpusher220 Hmm, I haven't ran into anybody using readit.buzz yet, but I'm willing to try to help you out! The first thing I would do is make sure that if there is an option for federation to turn it on. Maybe ask within the readit.buzz community how to do this. This is early days for a lot of the tools and instances springing up, so there are still kinks being worked out possibly as well there.

I know I can reference and link to my sub by referencing it as @DwarfFortress

@DwarfFortress@kbin.social

Maybe clicking on that above within readit.buzz will direct you to be able to subscribe?

In a pinch if you wanted to view the magazine directly, it is at https://kbin.social/m/DwarfFortress

ETA: The magazine names are usually case sensitive

As a divorced father who lives alone, my dearest hope is that my own kids learned enough from me to do something like this as well.

But all the people who actually provide good content and care about reddit being good have been alienated, so the people that are left in for a fun surprise. Hey, why isn't anybody posting good content anymore? But, but.... but... I'm entitled to good content... what do you mean I actually have to participate?

Thanks, exactly. If somebody had just said "Explain it to me" it would have been a much different explanation. But "explain like I'm FIVE"... well, I explained it in ways a five year old would relate to. Experience: Parent whose children used to be smol.

Democracies work when the voting populace is educated and informed. Unfortunately, humanity willfully avoids being either in favor of opinion and bias.

Ironically, this platform of federated smaller servers makes it impossible for users to hold an entire "subreddit" hostage like is happening on Reddit. It also makes it impossible for any one company to decide what the future of the Fediverse looks like. As my girl Martha would say, "It's a good thing."
