Was it going to be payed out to mods and creators ?

Yt is simple. But the others. It’s much of the same. Really you’re getting revenue based on views. Even if the ads were only on your individual profile. I dunno. Something would be better than nothing.

It’s a tough thing to configure. How much do you pay. Do you pay on volume or on difficulty.

If they had said, hey. We are are going to remove api access so we can bring in substantial advertising revenue, to pay moderators and creators.

I would have probably been ok with it.

Meta and YouTube did similar.

I did pay YT. But I found myself not using it much.

I intend to do awards and prizes and bounties on my server. 🤷‍♀️

May give away some of my watches I don’t use and stuff.

i could see myself paying if the money was passed on to its creators. i mean i pay for spotify. youtube, im happy to sit through 5 minutes of ads!

because it seems to be an effective and sustainable model.

i actually find the whole thing fascinating, which is why i post about it. if it wasnt reddit, i probably would have posted on reddit about it.

ive never made my subs private, so if its private, people cant interact in the background? i just thought it meant whatever was happening behind the door, wasnt visible to the public?

and if thats the case, what, they are arguing, no you need to keep growing the sub, keep working for free to make us money?

seems like they wouldnt want to pay people to moderate every sub.

maybe they have to start paying people to mod, form all that advertising cash they will bring in.
