World leaders responded with shock, widely condemning political violence and wishing Adolf Hitler a speedy recovery. The Führer may be a divisive figure, but the leaders in the Allied command — who would prefer him not to take over Europe — were unequivocal in expressing their dismay on what it means and where it could lead. Allied leaders called the attack “despicable,” and described it as “a tragedy for democracies.” "We stand in solidarity with the Führer," they continued "The attack is madness that none of us should condone"

Even from "the Art of the Deal let's reach a compromise" point of view it's fucking stupid.

When you negotiate you demand more than reasonable, so the middle ground is somewhat acceptable.

Demand full on socialism, so you might get social democracy.

(Obviously that's not how it works, and you can't really negotiate with the capitalist ruling class, it's just a mind experiment of stepping into the shoes of the "moderates")

oh forgot to add

They were also cheering that according to a poll Kamala would "beat" Trump 42 to 41, and Hillary would "beat" Trump 43 to 41

suuuuuure

at least Colbert made fun of Kamala and Hillary, I guess

sometimes I expose myself to the liberal mind, so no one could accuse me of living in a tankie bubble meow-tankie

I mean, in their mind this is a literal end of democracy, conservative apocalypse situation, and they are cheering that according to a poll they might have a chance of beating the fascist dictator 42 to 41 in a vote? Is this a joke? Deeply unserious people.

Watched Colbert's recent monologue on Biden

It's deeply weird that the audience is literally cheering for NATO... It's a military alliance, what the fuck are you cheering about

What do they think NATO is? How did it come into being? Why does it still exists after the fall of the USSR?

The answer, obviously, is that they don't think — they believe NATO is the real life version of the Fellowship of the Ring

(or the Last Alliance of Elves and Men, I guess? Is the US Gondor or Rohan?)

It's like the words "negotiation" and "diplomacy" were lathed out of the dictionary.

Just because you talk to your (supposed) adversary it doesn't mean you have to agree with everything they say.

Like what? Putin will mind control you if you ask him what he wants?

Or: "wE dOn'T nEgOtIaTe wItH tErRorists"? Like y'all dont sell weapons to the saudis and other shitty regimes.

The EU is a joke. They don't negotiate with Putin because the satraps are not allowed to have their own independent foreign policy. This is like the whip in the UK parliament. They want to whip Orban to toe the EU party line.

We always joke about how the liberal mind is just a bunch of pop culture references, but I think they have truly internalized shit like Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter. You wouldn't negotiate with Sauron, right?
