What? millions and millions of people? Do you realize not everyone lives in a city? Satellite TV is insanely popular in Canada. Every single provider offers it.

They have WISP and Starlink also. Both using satellites.

Not sure why you think a satellite is some ancient technology lmao. It's the norm outside of cities.

I used Boost until Reddit shut it down, and I must say, that has not been my experience.

Reddit is a shell of what it was before. /r/All and /r/Popular showed absolutely nothing. The most random subreddits would pop up, and have like 200 upvotes. The front page was so boring and blank.

When subs started coming back, they limited posts, so you'd get like 1 post per day instead of 50-100. Some subs turned into posting memes only, or pics of only one thing/person.

Reddit was absolutely harmed in this. I was already preparing to leave, but Reddit actually became really boring and useless that last month to the point where I rarely opened the app.

You should watch Silicon Valley.

SILICON VALLEY SPOILERS BELOW FOR THOSE USING APPS THAT DO NOT SUPPORT SPOILER TAG

spoilerGoes to show how you can create a company and be completely fired and removed from it. It's nuts.

How much is Spez paying their admins to stay up all day and night censoring place? lmao

I printed off a large 18x18 inch vinyl decal of last years /r/Place and put it on my fridge. I love looking at it every time I am cooking, because I see something new every time.

Can't wait to print this years off and stick it blow.

  • No ads.
  • Background play.
  • Download videos
  • YouTube Music Premium included

First one makes it worth it for me. Have you seen how many ads some videos have? It's insane. Not interested in watching 8+ minutes of ads in a 45 minute video.

I know there are plugins, alternative apps, etc. to get the same stuff free, but I just prefer paying and never having to worry about any apps or plugins breaking. I just know it'll be a perfect experience every time.

Careful. People here got angry at Linus from LMG when he said it's important for creators to make money to continue paying their massive staff and bring more content.

Are you non-American? Seems like only Americans get any kind of deal. Rest of the world gets the middle finger.

Nah.

I can use YouTube on any of my devices on any network and don't worry about ever seeing an ad. It's nice.

Sure, you can use revanced, pi hole, ublock origin, etc, but whenever they break, or have short down times where ads sneak in until the filters get updates, it's just not worth the effort.

It increased a couple months ago to like $25 CAD lmao. Still worth it, though. I watch so much YouTube.

It's weird how people are fine paying for Netflix, Hulu, CrunchyRoll, Twitch, etc, but draw the line at YouTube, the platform that has infinite more content and actual value.

It's still less than my parents pay for satellite. Also comes with YouTube Music if you wanna ditch Spotify. Kinda a 2 in 1 deal.

I know the US is hella behind in payment technologies, but can you tap your phone in NL to pay for toilets? I haven't carried cash for 15+ years in Canada. If so, I honestly like that system. At least I wouldn't encounter a group of homeless people shooting up in the timmies bathroom at 8pm.

There really is no excuse at this point for those mods to not leave and start rebuilding somewhere like Lemmy.

Oh they are. And they are just as toxic and controlling.
