Came here to suggest vampire survivors. Super cheap game that you can just turn your brain off and play.

Yeah, if I stick with Lemmy (which seems highly likely) I want to put up my own private instance for similar reasons and maybe even invite friends and family that I can talk into it.
I'd consider having a spare account on hand as a backup for if your instance is down for maintenance or something.
I think ignoring is the wrong way to go for sure. Personally I un-installed my app for Lemmy but I might reinstall it.
The reason I might reinstall it is just to help improve Lemmy. For example, most of my news for League of Legends came from the subreddit and the Lemmy community I found is basically dead. So, if I want to help improve Lemmy I could look at reddit for the news and then repost it (linking the original source, not reddit).
Also, think about all the subreddits that make content from Twitter and Tumblr, it's possible some people will want to be on Reddit and Lemmy for the same reason.
I would assume both, considering the community sidebar doesn't specify.
I do this too, but thankfully I've also managed to break my day in half so it's no longer "can't do anything all day" but "can't do anything else this morning until this" and "can't do anything after lunch until this".
Don't quote me on it but I believe that is a known issue that is being worked on. Infact I thought I saw something about the recent 0.18 version of Lemmy having a fix for that.
I'm new here but if I stick around long enough I'll probably get up my own server/instance(s) for the various parts of the fediverse I participle in. Mostly because it sounds neat and partially because it would allow other people I know to have a fediverse "home" operated by a familiar face (if the fediverse gets popular among the mainstream).
Right now it's just Lemmy, but I may eventually participate in Mastodon, Matrix, Peertube, Owncast and.
I'm going to wait first though to see if the Lemmy userbase (and platform) remains healthy and/or grows. Then would come the hard part of setup, I'm familiar with technology, but nowhere near a professional or a hobbyist (unless you count gaming).
I like these kind of video game communities, ones that are about a genre or subgenre and not just one game. It makes the community more active when there is more than one game to discuss.
I'm going to bookmark this. Thanks for finding/creating this.
Very interesting. I've known that the southern part of Africa is a popular destination for Christian missionaries but I don't think I knew just how popular until I saw this map.
League of Legends is the game we all share (it's how most of us met each other) but there are other games that some of us play together from time to time.
Deep Rock Galactic, Risk of Rain 2, Remnant: From the Ashes (sequel next month), Minecraft, and ARPGs. Just to name a few.
It's not uncommon either for us to just be playing out own thing and streaming to the others.
