Decent easy to read narrative which gave perspective of the whole country, and then focused specifically on the fight in the South. Talks about the culture and history of the tribes, and settlers, and then follows a few specific characters so you can observe the personal impact of events.

Empire of the Summer Moon, by S.C. Gwynne. Really interesting read about the final years of the Old West, and the war between the (predominantly Comanche) natives and the white settlers. Been a while since I read it but I enjoyed it.

It's one of the poorest states, rife with poverty and crime, low employment opportunities, and high rates of illiteracy and other markers of low education. Coupled with the issues which affect India more broadly, such as overpopulation and class and caste discrimination, make it a not very nice place.

Sri Lanka: Thousands arrested in week-long anti-drug operation. Same story on the BBC

I think the interesting thing here, as the article mentions, is that correlation doesn't equal causation. There is definitely an advantage to exercise, and the brisker the walk the better, as it's good for cardiovascular fitness, joint health etc as well as burning calories. And people who are generally fitter are less likely to develop T2DM. But also people who are generally fitter/healthier are are less likely to have T2DM, and are probably also better able to move more and faster.

A potentially interesting follow-up might be to examine the correlation between number of daily steps, and pace, in patients with known Type 2 Diabetes and the reversal of the condition.

Missing from the auto TLDR. "The court did not order any punishment, according to a statement by TISL."

So no change will come from it, it took action from the people to oust the Rajapaksa's who continue to make themselves rich at the expense of their people and this is no deterrent nor are there safeguards to stop it happening again.

Supersize Me 2: Holy Chicken! covers this and is definitely worth a watch. He sets up a fried chicken restaurant and establishes all the minimum criteria to promote your food as free range/organic/healthy etc when it really isn't.
