No, "if" is stressed on the last syllable while "πŸ’©" on the first.

Not sure about that but in my native language the words for "if" and "poop" are spelled the same, so every time I type "Π°ΠΊΠΎ" I get the πŸ’© as a suggestion.

It probably doesn't contribute much to the discussion but I felt compelled to share.

Edit: also "правя" which translates as making/doing (i.e making dinner, doing everything possible" automatically suggests "sex" and "blowjobs" despite me never sexting...

Great but..

COP28 will be held in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates from November 30 until December 12.

UAE are one of the biggest producers of CO2 per capita if we exclude small island nations. Their economy is almost solely based on the very thing that causes climate change apart from animal agriculture. The most powerful rich people on the planet flying to one of the hottest, car-centric, artificially created settlements, that was meant to be a fishing village, and can't even take care of its sewage, to discuss how we can keep up with the current unsustainable model so the cash keeps flowing. But it's okay because we're serving mostly vegan food.

This whole shitshow seems to be in line with the petrostates trying to greenwash themselves while scrambling for survival before the whole petroleum industry collapses, or their desert settlements become impossible to live in, whichever comes first.

Might be talking out of my ass here but prog metal artists tend to have high education, usually in music. In fact I saw a bachelor's degree programme for progressive metal in the university of Gothenburg!

That's what prompted me to post mine. I did an experiment last night, soaking it in vinegar. It made it even darker and the oxidation seems to have spread...so I had to toss it. Sadly it was beginning to mess with my stitches because of the friction the dark layer had caused.

Blame Capitalism?

More or less. As a pharmacist from the dark corners of the EU, there are essential, basic drugs absent from the market since at least a decade, while expensive and innovative therapies hit the market almost immediately. Examples of that would be lithium (for bipolar, costs pennies) Vs Reagila(antipsychotic for bipolar and schizophrenia, costs about 100€ here, thousands of $ in the US), Chloroquine/hydroxychloroquine Vs biologics (no room for comparison since they're vastly different but biologics are widely available while chloroquine has been gone for 5 years now and hydroxychloroquine was manufactured during the COVID craze at a huge margin).

We do not have penicillin G for syphilis, we do not have nitrofurantoin for UTIs(we use ciprofloxacin instead, yuck), don't get me started on the anticonvulsants.

AND on top of that, generics aren't always cheaper. If your oncologist or cardiologist has been woo'd by a representative of a company that sells their indian-made repackaged drugs at double the price of the brand-name, good luck switching brands unless you're ready to give up your insurance reimbursement.

Just started A Court of Frost and Starlight. I really enjoyed the previous 3 books and I have to admit... They're as addicting as terrible. I have no idea how Sarah J Maas manages to pull it off but she somehow does. The main character is absolutely one dimensional, the word ma*e is repeated more times than I'm comfortable with and I'm not even in it for the spicy scenes. Yet I keep coming for more.
