In spite of the position here that power doesn't need to listen to its own rules, and that the state isn't a chess board but rather a tool used to maintain class society, it is still somewhat scary to me that this is happening, because it makes things a bit harder to predict.

I'm under the impression that a very considerable amount of semiconductor ICs are fabbed for Intel, AMD, etc by TSMC. Intel said that they would order $4 billion of them the next year back in 2023, and $10 billion of them the year after.
