This is an idle factory simulation where as you play some machines in your factory can fail or produce junk. For this update, we added many quality of life improvements to help with the early gameplay as well as making it possible to fully idle. Here is a list of the changes:

Dynamic Tutorialization

Now, the tutorials include animations on what to do when new events pop up in order to boost clarity. The Request Input button will also be highlighted depending on player activity.

Incremental Factory v0.5 - Changelog:

Greetings, factory builders! In our continuous effort to enhance your experience and expand the possibilities within Incremental Factory, we're excited to bring you version 0.5. This update introduces a host of new features, quality of life improvements, and optimizations. Here's everything you need to know about what's new.

New Features

Drones & Task Queue
We are so excited to give you this feature. The main purpose of this is to let you copy & paste entire sections of your factory. But there is more to it than meets the eye at first glance.

  • Copy-Paste
    • This is the core functionality and works as expected: select one or multiple parcels, press ctrl+c (cmd+c) to copy your selection and ctrl+v (cmd+v) to paste your selection.

Copy/Paste Feature

  • This will create all parcels and connections immediately and all buildings will be added as buy-tasks to the "Drone Task Queue".
  • Drone Task Queue
  • The "Drone Task Queue" will then execute all tasks one by one until all tasks are done.

Drone Task Queue

  • Previously, when you wanted to buy a building blueprint, you always needed to have all resources at once. Now, if you are short on resources you can still buy the blueprint and all buildings that couldn't be bought immediately will be added to the task queue instead!

  • And the same logic applies for individual buildings, too. Gone are the times where you added 47 Bioreactors and had to remember to come back few minutes later to build the 33 remaining in that parcel

  • Drone Blueprints & Import/Export
    • Save as Drone Blueprint: You can now save any part of your factory as a Drone Blueprint to be used later (even in your next prestige reset!)

Saving a new Drone Blueprint

  • Import/Export Drone Blueprints: It's time to share your drone blueprints with the community or import others' blueprints!

Importing a new Drone Blueprint

  • New Building, Research & Skill
    • All of this is tied into the games progression: You unlock the Construction Drones with a Gen4 research & once you have enough skillpoints you can start your runs with Drones Unlocked from the beginning!

https://preview.redd.it/2wa2trdkiymc1.png?width=658&format=png&auto=webp&s=3722cdd49382e39bd88dc2a1667c2ff091dddf55

  • By default your Drones will work at 20 tasks / min. If you want to increase that you'll have to build "Drone Ports". And to build those, you'll have to craft "Drones" with the "Drone Factory"

Delete Parcel Feature

  • Parcel Management: One of the most requested features in the past weeks. Now you can delete parcels by selecting them and pressing backspace or del.

Deleting Parcels

Equal Distribution Logic

  • Changed Distribution Logic: We've updated the resource distribution logic. Previously, the first connection was served first; now, all connections are served equally.

Added Feature: CTRL+K Command Console

  • This is a feature that has become popular in productivity tools like Superhuman, Arc and MacOS over the past years. We added this into this game to make it easier for you to stay in flow.

CTRL+K: Buy 28 Kiln

  • Commands with Examples:
    • Buy/Sell n amount of resources: "Buy 28 kiln" → Lets you buy 28 kiln
    • Highlight resources: "Pin stone" → Highlights stone, the same as clicking in the global resource stats window on the left
    • Clear highlights: "Clear all" → Removes all pins
    • Navigation: "Goto Map" → Opens the "Map" Tab

UI & UX Improvements

Improved hover tooltip

  • Now displays missing resources.

Global Sorting

  • Manually sort resources so you keep in focus what matters to you most.

https://i.redd.it/wvqpb4qriymc1.gif

Better Resource Highlighting/Pinning

  • Highlighting/pinning resources now also filters buildings, making it quicker and easier to locate the structures you need.

https://i.redd.it/8w1zr1qsiymc1.gif

Shortcuts

  • Quick navigate between Parcel, Map, Research, and Skilltree using the 1, 2, 3, & 4 keys.

https://preview.redd.it/f9j7xnxtiymc1.png?width=1272&format=png&auto=webp&s=6d43825ff3fd4e7d59fa3843da6b3b1a3131b7b5

  • Move around the Map using WASD for a smoother experience.

Improved Parcel Preview

  • On the Map View, Shift + Click on a parcel for an enhanced preview. Clicking outside the preview now closes it.

Shift + Click: Parcel Preview on Map

More Improvements

  • Navigation tabs are now consistently displayed at the top.
  • Dark mode styling has been refined for better visibility and aesthetics.
  • New toast popups show what has been unlocked.
  • A revamped loading screen for a smoother start-up experience.

Performance Optimization

Efficiency Upgrades

  • We've begun addressing some "low hanging fruits" in terms of performance optimization. This initial step paves the way for significant enhancements in the future, aiming to support the construction of larger and more complex mega factories.

MacOs Release

  • You can now play Incremental Factory on Mac. Both Intel & Apple Silicon!

We're dedicated to continuously improving Incremental Factory and are excited to see how these updates enhance your factory-building journey. As always, your feedback is invaluable to us, so please don't hesitate to share your thoughts and experiences with these new features on our discord or the discussion forum on steam. Happy building!

P.S. To celebrate the update, there is a 25% discount on Incremental Factory right now !

Cute new game prototype that popped up on incrementaldb. It's nice and short and has cute graphics. If you play it, it would be fun to hear how fast you beat it. It took me 29 minutes on my first try. https://barribob.itch.io/slamwall

Hey all! I'd like to introduce you to Gorgon Shield, my a shield spinning, party based, incremental RPG. The premise is that you must climb a vast tower, build your heroes up each run, fall to your doom, get tougher, do it all again!

I'm best known as the creator of a long running gladiator game series, Swords and Sandals but this is my first non S&S game in many years, it's great to be working on something new. Honestly, I don't think there are many other games out there quite like this and I think it'd be a good game for fans of incremental games as there are many upgrade paths and short runs for your heroes.

Playable Steam demo is here, I would love your feedback so far on the game loop and what works for you, what you'd like to see in the full version which drops in July this year.

Cheers!

Just launched my first game ever. It's hard to sum it up in just a few words, but this game is like you've forgotten how the world works and must figure it out on your own.
I am a designer, not a game developer, and it's all started as an experiment in JS to make a cube explode satisfyingly (is it a word?). Everything else evolved over a few years from that simple action of clicking the cube to make it pop and around it. I am not sure if this game for everyone, it could be confusing sometimes, but what I wanted to invoke is the sense of accomplishment built on that confusion every time you figure something out by yourself. It will not tell you what to do most of the time. And if it seems that it take ages to do something, it most probably could be done other way.
So yeah, it's a big thing for me and I hope you'll have fun!

Hey all! We just released the demo for War Tortoise, an incremental game that is launching on Steam later this month! This will be our first Steam game, so we would really appreciate any and all feedback!

https://store.steampowered.com/app/2120250/War_Tortoise/

In a nutshell, War Tortoise is an incremental game that is presented kind of like a 3rd person shooter, but plays like an idle game (including auto battle). Basically we wanted to make a laid back idle game but with some of the depth and visuals of a more “fully fledged” game. You can explore locations on a huge map, each with different rewards and long term effects. You can equip weapons and armor, customize your play style with permanent mutation buffs, and can unlock abilities from a huge tree.

There are also some alternate modes such as fishing and a full free roam adventure mode!

Also note that while this post is specifically about Steam, the game is currently available on mobile as well.

Link to game: https://snab43.github.io/randNumInc/

Optional background music (play in another tab): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DjMKwLkgS-k

It takes about 10 minutes to complete. Works on mobile, but it's a slightly better experience on desktop.

Playing is pretty self explanatory, but just hit "Get a Number" and you can upgrade your Min and Max values. The game unfolds a bit and your goal is to have made a total of 1,000,000 Numbers (spent Numbers still count towards this goal).

Background

I've tried making a few incremental games in the past but I always am way too ambitious about the scope or get stuck on unimportant details. I decided to have a little game jam with myself where I wanted to make a complete experience as fast as possible. I ended up making this game in about 10 or so hours yesterday, with maybe an hour of minor polish today.

I have no plans to expand on it especially since the code is sloppy. But, I feel like I get stuck on coding everything the most proper or optimal way that I end up not finishing anything. So this was practice in turning off that part of my brain and just writing code that works even if it sucks.

Shout out to 98.css for the UI.

Hello there r/incremental_games ❤️

I've posted here before, and decided to do an update now on the game I've been developing for more than a year now: WalkScape. I know we have a sizeable following here, and we have some great news!

First off, I love incremental games, and I also have ADHD. Gamifying exercise works really well for my dopamine-craving brain, but I'm also easily distracted, so the current mobile fitness games on the market didn't really work for me. That's how I came up with this idea.

Here are some info about the game and how it's different from Pokemon Go for example:

  • no distractions. I love games that value my time. WalkScape is designed so that it encourages you not to open it while you're walking, but afterwards. And even if you open it while walking, changing things in the game is super quick.
  • no GPS. So you can walk where ever you want. The game tracks your steps even without an internet connection, but you need a connection when you open the game.
  • no ads, no MTX. I hate predatory monetisation practises, and they encourage unhealthy spending habits. This game is about both mental and physical health.

In the game, you explore and work in different skills such as woodcutting, foraging, fishing and crafting by walking in real life. The game uses your phone's pedometer to track your progress. It's also online, so you can work with your friends towards common goals without needing to be physically in the same location.

The game has dozens of locations, hundreds of items, NPCs, shops and more is coming as I work towards the full release of the game. There's a lot of different unique and cute activities in the game you can set your character to do in addition to the typical woodcutting and mining, like volunteering in soup kitchen or helping locals repairing their boats. All fueled by walking IRL.

If you feel like you'd like to try it out, you can either apply to the closed beta (we're inviting more people right now) or if you like to support the development, you get instant to access through Patreon or Buy me a Coffee to start playing. The game is completely community funded.

Whether you decide to support or apply to the closed beta, you'll need to sign up at WalkScape Portal to the game and then apply or connect your Patreon on the account page.

You can also check our this video to hear me and the artist explain more about the game: Youtube introduction video

Or you can visit the website.

We also have my devblogs released every two weeks available at r/WalkScape

It's been a wild journey for me growing this thing from my personal hobby project, and awesome to see the game helping so many people to exercise more. I'll answer any questions you might have in the comments!

Stay hydrated, and keep walking ❤️
