Hi /r/incremental_games!

It's been a while since I last posted, but I wanted to give folks a heads up that the next iteration of the Don't Die, Collect Loot playtest is live here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2052160/Dont_Die_Collect_Loot/

For those who haven't tried it yet, Don't Die, Collect Loot is a wacky incremental action RPG with some 2D scrolling shooter elements. It focuses primarily on finding and crafting massive piles of loot and exploring large skill trees as you traverse randomly generated levels.

You start off with a pretty basic hero (Adventurer, Beastmaster, or Arcanist right now) with some simple skills, but you end up eventually dealing billions of damage as you shred your way through impossibly large piles of monsters and wacky bosses. The endgame features an infinitely-scaling difficulty prestige system so you can really try to push your character to its limits if you want.

For those who have played before, this update primarily focuses on adding the third class to the playtest. The Arcanist is a spellcaster that cycles through mana, using it to power spells. Using those spells then empowers your basic attacks, creating a damage boosting feedback loop!

There's also a ton of new items to find, new hidden bosses, a deeper endgame, automatic skill usage options, and significant performance and stability updates to boot.

Always excited to hear from you folks and get your feedback!

Thanks,

Dan

Hey guys, the newest content patch is out (and the couple days of followup emergency patches)

This patch is mostly focused on new content for end game, so if you were at the end or near it (R3 Sector 93ish) theres more stuff to do. It adds Reinforce 4 which has some new systems and one of those new systems is also added onto the end of Reinforce 3. There is also a little bit of QoL Improvements and minor tweaks for earlier players too.

But the thing I'm most excited about in general is the integration with a discord bot setup. If you are in the discord server you can link your discord account to the game via a unique code you can get in the about or settings tab in game, which you then send to the bot in the #role-link section. Once your account is linked you will automatically get assigned roles on the server that reflect your progress in game, and if you so choose, also automatically update your server nickname to show the sector you're in in near real time. Finally everyone isnt just the default role color ><. This bot integration is also being used to run monthly giveaways too!

The next major update will likely be a bit of a re-balance as there has been some mentions of pacing issues/annoying progression in 75+ that I want to remedy, I've got a survey about that here if you have played a bit. The survey is mostly meant for 75+ players but there is section with a few things if you're not even that far that would be helpful to get feedback on still! The survey

For those unfamiliar with the game heres a blurb from the steam page.

Destroy endless waves of alien ships that have all but wiped out humanity in this long form, unfolding, sci-fi idle game. Customize your ship with different weapons and defenses to defeat specific enemy types and utilize a ton of different systems to increase your overall power.

Check it out here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/2471100/Unnamed_Space_Idle/

As always I love to hear feedback of any sort be it here or in the Discord (but right now more specifically in that survey :p)

Hi

After months of hard work and lots of coffee, I'm super excited to share my game: "Sword and Shield Idle"!

The game revolves around rescuing workers from boss rooms and training them to craft swords and shields that battle on your behalf. I'd be incredibly grateful if you took a moment to look at it and maybe even add it to your wishlist!

I'm baffled at the fact that half of the idle games I play don't have any offline progression yet they require you to stare at numbers for countless hours. The point of idles, or at least I was to much of a baboon to think it was that way, was to be something you can supervise for a couple of minutes at a time, and then either let it run while you do other stuff or come back later. I still don't understand why browsers for example, haven't for example added an option to whitelist a tab to let in run while not in focus. I've seen the posts on Brave, I've made my own too. Or why most incremental have the offline progression only unlocked late altogether. I don't want to have a browser window constantly opened at the corner of my screen or buy an extra monitor just for this.
Am I the only one with this issue, or is this some sort of quirk present in this niche genera of videogames?

Allow me to recount the tale of this update...
After the log update, I started working on an update in which no new content would be added to the game, but rather some QoL stuff and/or rebalancing. One of the biggest planned additions was achievements. This did not happen. I started with rebalancing the current game. I was going to implement a new feature; point galaxies (based on antimatter galaxies) but after a lot of attempts to balance them, they always ended up being way overpowered or way underpowered (You can still find some remnants of their existence in the code). I also rebalanced log to make it slower and less overpowered. Then, my overambitious self started working on the next layer, bitwise. I had already started on bitwise during the log update, but then decided I should post what I had before working on new stuff. For this update, I started implementing bitwise, but then had a really good idea for a layer based on antimatter dimensions AND the prestige tree (similarities to the prestige tree yet to be implemented, if they ever will be that is). I started implementing it, and then it became the main point of the update, and here we are. Anyways, hope you enjoy the update, hope there are no bugs (who am I kidding), and sorry for waiting so long to post it.

edit: Warning! There is currently a major bug causing a certain automation to kick in early that can't be disabled when you reload the page. I'm working on fixing it, thank you for the feedback.
