I don't know, but where I live (Asturias) I never noticed any distinction between y and ll, despite being a mixed area.

It should be my fault, yes. Instead of going to a pharmacy, I prefer to buy random stuff from a random stranger.
I don't know whether you're a woman or a man, but let's say you're a woman. You know your husband goes to work everyday, you know his car, you know his licence plate and you know where he works.
Now, you see a picture on the internet, like a disco bar, or a penthouse. And you see, in the parking lot, some vehicles, being your husband's among them. Now what?
Or the other way, your husband sees your car at an expensive beauty shop, instead of being at a hospital, because you said you were visiting your dying relative.
Privacy must be protected, it's a very important thing in European countries, and licence plates belong to that privacy, as well as phone numbers.
Exterminate / Extinguish - once they have good amount of users, they can start crippling the other side
That's users' fault. I don't want to disrespect anybody, that's not my intention, but if users are stupid enough to listen to the songs of the Sirens, that's not Sirens' fault, but users' fault.
You say that defederating is the only way to prevent EEE. But defederating doesn't prevent people to move to Threads, doesn't prevent people to listen to the songs of the Sirens. It only prevents people to see the Sirens.
they’re launching in America first
Because GDPR makes Threads to be illegal in Europe, thanks to Ireland and the European Union 😆
I didn't pick Lemmygrad.ml because of tankies. I didn't pick Lemmy.ml because it was the biggest server in April last year, and I wanted to avoid the biggest servers (same thing with other fediverse pages). Other servers had dozens of users and almost no content. The server I'm on had like 500 users and a moderate amount of content. And it was located in Finland, Europe (I'm from Spain).
Some instances removed the downvote button. And I think it's a good decision, personally speaking. If you like it, you upvote it. If you don't like it, move on. Less toxicity, and less emotional damage when someone has rejection sensitiveness.
When I joined Lemmy one year and some months ago (the instance I'm talking from), this wasn't a desert, but this wasn't a living place either. Maybe I didn't subscribe to some communities, but I could see two or three new posts per day, with a couple of comments in the best case scenario. I didn't do my part either as much as I'm doing it now.
But now, between holding poop for 3 days, or eating beans, or the abundance of users on every instance, this is a neverending party, and I'm happy. I'm still not doing my part posting, but I comment very often. And I even have one account on two instances each (is that correctly said?).
With correct mods, with wholesome admins and with polite users, even disagreeing, these places will be forever my virtual home.
I think the free speech absolutist is full of bullshit, and there has to be ways to troll him, like redditors did with spez.
In my country (Spain) there is an organization called "Centre for Sociological Research", which in Spanish it's called "Centro de Investigaciones Sociológicas" (best known as CIS).
So, is that name also a slur, according to the free speech absolutist? What about politicians and journalists who talk about its surveys?
That Reddit died before this new Reddit was born. That Reddit was, in fact, the best. This Reddit, fuck it.
When I'm sorting by all, instead of local or subscribed communities/magazines, everything I see comes from lemmy.world. It looks like Kbin/Sopuli/Beehaw are just a desert, until you sort by local and, aleluyah, there is updated content.
