It didn't work very well for Hexbear when it was forked the first time. The dev team evaporated within a year or two.

I was led to believe all transgirls are programmers but we have yet to collectively out-code the transphobe. trans-sad

Nutomic unfortunately contributes a significant number of commits to Lemmy and they tend to be pretty important bugfixes, core structural changes, and code optimization.

I have personally called him out on the trans issue before but he just doubles down while the rest of the lemmy/lemmygrad community kind of ignores him socially. I don't think he realizes we'd be nice to him like Desslines if he just wasn't an asshole.

I imagine most people here would be chill with Dessalines being a hexbear regular if he wanted to. But I'm not sure what either of them are motivated by since I don't see them around much (could just be alts though).

I see he didn't take the sexual harrassment training on the web portal.

Waiting to see if it lasts longer than people caring about Trump's ear, tbh.

That's true, like, I know queer people tend to embrace weirdness and transgressiveness because people see us that way regardless. But my question is more whether this little campaign will just slide off the backs of conservatives and be redirected to us like a lot of cultural policing does.

I have no problems being weird, I have problems being conflated with "left fascists" for arbitrary Harry-Potter-esque reasons like not passing or conforming to lib sensibilities of propriety.

What are the odds this new "weird" trend gets redirected to us?

If the US has its own Chinese Warlord Era...I don't think present day commies and queer folk are equipped to handle that.
