Adding little bit extra context here.

In Finland large number of homes are heated by district heating. This means there is heat plant or combined heat and power (CHP) plant, which heats water to around 70C - 110C (158F - 230F) and that is distributed to homes.

In this system heat batteries are useful, and near all CHP plants in Finland have done heat battery in last few years. These heat batteries are just 7-store high insulated water storage. Usefulness to store just water is that system is relatively simple. Water in - water out. This makes it that the turbine in CHP can be run more freely towards electricity price, not the network heat demand.

Plain heat plants generally don't yet have these, because the buffer created by heat battery is not that much needed. But if these sand batteries can store heat longer, and because they might be cheaper to build, it can make sense.

Source: I work in company that owns 19 district heating networks.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Banana_republic

"In political science, the term banana republic describes a politically and economically unstable country with an economy dependent upon the export of natural resource."

They are so dependable on fossil fuel export that they try to sway all other nations to use fossil fuels and generate crisis on it to tie other nations closer to it's only source of power in global market. Russia has less GDP than Italy. They are not super power anymore, and every nation should try to get away from their fossil fuels.

60% of their export is fossil energy, it is a banana republic

Starting a war isn't really 11D thing, it is more like "me big army, me attack" vibe. Even the orange orangutan can figure that one out.

Russia has two exports, fossil energy and war. They know nothing else.

Putin and his party are one and the same.

This is basic dictator playbook, problems in domestic politics, start a war and problems change to foreign policy.

Putin has done this multiple times now, and Trump is following up.

I have unlocked the fourth one! It is attention, they want just you to notice them.

He definitely doesn't want the rioting to end, he is actively trying to make it bigger. What he wants to people forgetting is that Musk repeated that Trump is in the Epstein flight logs.

Yeah, Symbian really was quite a thing. It was insanely optimized for memory and battery, but was nightmare to code.

Well, the annoying part is that the burning platform talked by Elop was Maemo/Meego, which was full Linux. Without Elop and Microsoft we would have pure Linux running on phones today. Now we are stuck between two closed source OS for phones.

It was running Qt, so basically any KDE app would be portable on it quite easily.

I was working with Maemo and Qt Symbian in Nokia while this happened, and it makes me sad.

D365 ain't really even that bad. It is just model driven power platform app. It is actually quite expandable, you can code it with plain javascript or more complex components on React. Backend is OData which is quite flexible.

Old Dynamics AX and onprem CRM were shit shows.

I found from hard way that lemmy community urls are bit problematic. Here is the story, which contains bit NSFW material.

I was trying to figure out in Jerboa how to subscribe to community in another instance. First one that I came across, that i was not subscribed to was !hairypussy@pornlemmy. com. (I know, I know, I am a perv)

I copy pasted the community path to my android clipboard, and tried few ways in the app, and eventually gave up.

Some time passes, until I went to do some shopping. My wife and I use a shared shopping list. From this shopping list I found this beatiful community path.

My wife had a laugh, but I was worried that If she would have been bit more jelous side, she could have made a assumption from the structure of the path.

The thing is that !hairypussy @ pornlemmy. com looks like email address. This could have been misunderstood quuuite badly.

I am a coder also, so @ is sensible separator, and serves the same purpose as in email. Probably it should not change, but the structure can cause misunderstandings with some communities and lemmy instance urls. Of course here main issue is user error, and any link to some bad site can be issue, but people understand what website URL is.

Please let me know if this needs NSFW tag.
