You can download an old version of the Kindle desktop app (for Windows) and download the books there, though I'm not sure how long that feature will be available if Amazon turns it off server-side. I've personally decided not to buy Kindle books anymore due to their anti-consumer DRM and ability to revoke my books at any time, but I'm also not sure who does a better job.

Comparing what this congressman is doing to what Marjorie Taylor Greene did during Biden's presidency strikes me as a false equivalency and throws the entire angle of this article into question. While I agree that trying to file articles of impeachment at this point is not productive, it would have been the correct thing to do pre-2016.

That sounds less like review bombing and more like poorly received mechanics and broken promises. Am I missing something here?

Which dolphin model are you running? I've installed a bunch of local LLMs and I'm looking for ones that don't balk at bad words.

Thank you for sharing. This made my day, particularly the note at the end. 🙂

Sigh. Guess that means it's time to start looking for a new platform. Not that Discord has been excellent in a while, but products always go to shit when they're beholden to shareholders.

Damn, you did the legwork. Thank you for the added context!

They would actually be affected by these policies directly if they weren't upper class, and I and other friends of theirs will absolutely be affected for a variety of reasons (public healthcare and anti-LGBTQ+ policies to name a few) and they still don't seem to care. It feels like they're so out of touch they don't see the issue even though it will make a difference to the lives of the people around them. When you're privileged, it can be difficult to see past the end of your own nose. (And I say that as someone with my own set of privileges.)

A friend of mine, who I consider quite progressive, has literally said similar things to your father. I think your post has actually shed some light on their behavior: they're upper class (or their parents are). I was so confused after the 2024 election when they said everything would turn out all right in the end and it would all blow over, as if the changes the current regime is making haven't set us back 50 years, as if people aren't actively dying right now from Republican policies. Thank you for posting, I think it actually helped me understand why my friend said those things.

For chronically ill tea lovers (myself included), there are also a variety of options! Cut open the tea bag and pour into a strainer, buy a teapot with integrated strainer (they're all over thrift stores if money is an issue), buy reusable tea bags and fill them on a free day, buy tea brands that use safe tea bags, or skip the strainer and enjoy your tea with the dregs in. I also have a twist open tea strainer which is easier on my hands than the ones with a spring in them. But if all else fails, continue to drink and enjoy whatever tea works for you!
