Man muss natürlich auch ohne Account die Instanz wechseln können, aber irgendwas muss ja am Anfang angezeigt werden. Ich glaube, den User sofort damit zu konfrontieren, dass er eine Instanz wählen soll, wäre nicht sehr Einsteigerfreundlich, und wir wollen ja potentielle Neu-Lemminge nicht direkt mit technischen Details abschrecken oder?

It's impossible to make an app that will support the whole fediverse, including apps that have not been developed yet, that's what I meant. Of course with enough work you can add each existing one individually, nobody will stop you from doing that.
You would have to support each service separately, because they all work differently.
What connects Lemmy, Mastodon and other fediverse services is the ActivityPub protocol, that's the standardized communication protocol that makes everything run. The individual instances run different software that offer entirely different APIs (application programming interface; basically the language that defines how an app talks to a service) so in order to support Mastodon, Lemmy and Kbin, an app must explicitly implement the APIs for those three services.
So an app that generally just supports every service that will be added to the fediverse in the future can't be made unless we agree on some form of standard API, which we haven't (yet) and which may not even be feasable, because different services have much different capabilities.
A fediverse discord clone would offer completely different data structures and functionality than Lemmy, so an app that magically just works with both isn't possible to make.
I think the majority of people who will go to Lemmy are already here. Nobody waits until reddit has died to search for an alternative. And I think the amount of people who are active on reddit and who haven't heard about the changes that are about to come at all is very small

Vor allem nichtmal wenn man wirklich Wort für Wort exakt den Titel von nem Post eingetippt hat, den man gesucht hat. Ist mir unbegreiflich wie das sein kann
So habe ich es auch verstanden und ohne das Protokoll im Detail zu kennen gibts einen ziemlich deutlichen Hinweis dafür dass es so funktionieren muss: Wenn du auf die Frontpage gehst, müssten, wenn der Content nicht repliziert würde, alle anderen Instanzen kontaktiert werden, um deren aktive, neue, was auch immer Posts zu laden, das würde ewig dauern und wäre ineffizient; es macht also schon rein aus Performance-Sicht Sinn, den Content von anderen Instanzen zumindest lokal zwischenzuspeichern. Ob er permanent gespeichert wird oder mit einem Ablaufdatum versehen wird, zu dem dann der neue Content geholt wird ist wieder ein Detail das ich nicht kenne, aber wenn es so gemacht würde würden neue Posts aus anderen Instanzen nie sofort auftauchen, sondern immer mit etwas Verzögerung (z.B. im Durschnitt nach 5min wenn alle 10min der neue Stand geholt wird), was glaube ich rein von meinen Beobachtungen her nicht der Fall ist. Viel Gelaber um nichts, mein educated guess ist, der Content wird auf alle Instanzen gespiegelt.
