Fun fact: you can be opposed to capitalism without being a communist.

You [tankies] maybe opposed to capitalism, but you're still in favor of the coercive control of individuals by a state-level entity. That's just another flavor of authoritarianism.

I've got the extension up and running, but that doesn't seem to do the trick. I reset my proxy settings every time I try to connect (I can't connect to the internet normally if I use i2p proxy settings, and can't connect to i2P if I don't); i don't recall off the top of my head if FoxyProxy worked correctly for me or not.

I will check out the thread on wizanons.de and see if that helps at all.

I will definitely check it out. I'd love to see an open world game made now with the same kind of scale, but I don't think you could. IIRC, it would ahve taken something like a year in real time to have your character walk across Tamriel.

I've had two letters/emails in two years, both times when my VPN connection dropped while I was torrenting. I've since implemented a kill switch so that all of my internet drops when my VPN does.

You've been very, very lucky. Don't assume that everyone else will be equally lucky.

...Or Oblivion. Or Daggerfall. Probably not Battlespire or Redguard though, and I don't know if you could get Arena to run on a modern computer. Daggerfall was a bit tricky; I think it bugged out for me before I got out of the first dungeon.

I think we're already seeing that a lot of the groups are going to be left-leaning, and since the system is decentralized by design, it's not going to be attractive to people that are right-wing and have authoritarian views. E.g., they won't be able to force other people to see what they say. (Remember the shitstorm of whining when TheDonald was removed from the front page so that 99% of people didn't see it anymore?)

I haven't logged into reddit since overwriting and deleting 12 years of content. So, I dunno man. I also haven't logged into Twitter since Musk took over.

I think that you're right, that reddit won't die. But I think that things like this, if not this exact thing, are going to be reasonable alternatives for many people.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 years ago

...Goddammit.

I'm probably going to just have to take some kind of leap of faith then, because I've been completely banned from Reddit now, which means I can't message the mods there, and they can't message me. Fuckity fuck.

I would say either set up traffic for I2P

Any ideas on how to do this? I've tried using i2p--in Firefox--and can't seem to make it work. Sites that are supposedly up won't load. I've followed all the tutorials that I've found, and it doesn't seem to be doing what's expected. And no, I can't give any details at this second, because I'm away from my home computer, and it's been a few months since I tried.

I'd need a Real Attorney to chime in, but I think that, once you're actually in a trial, you can't dump your client without the permission from the judge. (You also can't intentionally stop providing your best service for any reason at all, not unless you want to be sanctioned or disbarred.) So while an attorney could insist on money up front, if the money they were paid didn't cover the real expenses, they could still end up getting stiffed. I suppose the 'smart' thing to do would be to have $100M put in an escrow account, and the money can only be released from the account if both parties agree. So if Trump tries to stiff you for the bill, he's still out the money since you don't have to release it back to him. Kinda like what The Silk Road used to do, only even shadier, since you'd be working for Trump.

I get asked about that shit sometimes too. I'm in my late 40s. People don't seem to say "...yet" any more, thankfully.

Lawyers can potentially get sanctioned for client conduct. I can see a potential problem if attorney are given access to classified information for defense prep, then Trump accesses the information, and then disseminates that information. It's a bit of a stretch, but given how bad Trump's behaviour has been, that's not a stretch I would ignore if I was an attorney.
